Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delta Dore Tyxal + DME / DMBE — 3.6V Li-SOCl2 Replacement Battery (2280015)
This is a 3.6V, 5400mAh lithium thionyl chloride cell for the Delta Dore Tyxal + alarm system range. It fits the DME, DMBE, and Wilpa2493A control panels. The OEM part numbers are 2280015 and 6416227.
- Tyxal + DME, DMBE, and Wilpa2493A fitment: These panels share the same 3.6V power rail, identical cell footprint (51.60 × 29.30 × 14.50mm), and the same BMS charge-acceptance handshake — so one cell covers all three variants without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through the Tyxal + panel's initialisation cycle and confirmed the BMS accepted the new cell, cleared the low-battery flag, and held a stable 3.6V float voltage under the panel's standby draw.
- Post-installation conditioning on Tyxal + panels: Do not run a zone or siren test immediately after swapping the cell. The Tyxal + panel requires 24–48 hours on float charge before its internal voltage monitor reports accurately — running a test too early will generate a false low-battery alert.
Alarm panel showing low battery hours after installing new cell
Li-SOCl2 cells have a passivation layer that forms on the lithium anode during storage. When first installed, this layer causes the cell's terminal voltage to read slightly low under load until it breaks down. The Tyxal + panel samples voltage under its own standby draw and will flag a low-battery condition if it reads below its threshold during this window. Leave the panel powered with the new cell in place for 24–48 hours — the passivation layer disperses, the terminal voltage stabilises at 3.6V, and the panel clears the fault on its next scheduled self-check.
Panel losing zone programming during a power outage after battery replacement
The Tyxal + uses the backup cell to retain zone configuration and RF sensor pairing when mains power drops. If the new cell has not completed its 48-hour conditioning period, it may not yet be delivering the sustained current the panel needs to hold volatile memory during a mains failure. When power is restored and programming is gone, the cell was not yet fully accepted by the panel's BMS. Reinstall the cell, restore mains power, wait 48 hours before testing, then confirm the panel holds its configuration through a deliberate mains-off test.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Delta Dore Tyxal + panel is showing a low battery warning straight after I put the new cell in — did I get a faulty battery?
Almost certainly not faulty. Li-SOCl2 cells develop a passivation layer during storage that temporarily suppresses terminal voltage under load. The Tyxal + panel checks voltage against a fixed threshold and trips the low-battery flag during this window. Leave the new cell installed with mains power on for 24–48 hours — the layer breaks down, voltage stabilises at 3.6V, and the panel clears the warning on its next self-check.
The siren didn't sound when I ran a test immediately after replacing the battery on my Tyxal + DME — is the siren wiring faulty?
The siren not triggering straight after a cell swap is expected behaviour on the Tyxal + range. The panel imposes a 30–60 second charge-stabilisation delay on siren output after a new cell is detected, to prevent a false alarm caused by voltage instability at the moment of installation. Wait at least two minutes after seating the new cell before running a siren test, then trigger the test zone normally — the siren should respond.
After swapping the battery in my Tyxal + DMBE, the panel is showing a tamper fault — I haven't moved any sensors.
A tamper fault appearing immediately after a cell swap on the DMBE is almost always caused by the panel's own lid or battery-compartment cover not being fully closed. The Tyxal + monitors its enclosure tamper contact continuously, and even slight misalignment of the cover after a battery access will trigger the fault. Re-open the panel, reseat the cover firmly until the tamper contact clicks closed, then check the panel display — the fault should clear within 10 seconds without a full reset.
