Fits Honeywell C300 control panel, replaces OEM part number 51199942-300.
3.6V, 4500mAh Ni-MH chemistry delivers backup power during electrical outages; panel maintains alarm monitoring and communication with centers during mains failure.
Connector slides into vertical slot on C300 motherboard; locking tab seats flush against retention clip on panel frame.
We bench-tested this cell in a C300 test unit; BMS accepted full charge in 18 hours on trickle float and held voltage stable across four discharge cycles.
Do not run a zone test for 24 to 48 hours after installation — the panel requires full float charge before backup battery capacity reports accurately to the control board.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Honeywell C300 — 3.6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (51199942-300)

This 3.6V, 4500mAh Ni-MH cell replaces the backup battery in the Honeywell C300 security control panel. It keeps the panel running during mains power failures, maintaining alarm monitoring and communication with connected centres. OEM part numbers 51199942-300, CC-SCMB02, and 143553 all cross-reference this cell.

  • C300 panel compatibility: The C300 control unit uses a fixed 3.6V Ni-MH chemistry with a specific connector pinout and BMS charge profile. Swapping to a different voltage or chemistry will cause the panel to reject the battery or report a fault on the next diagnostic cycle.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through a full charge cycle on a C300 panel and monitored the BMS handshake. The panel accepted the battery, entered float charge without error codes, and held voltage within the expected 3.6V nominal band under simulated load.
  • Post-installation charge window: Do not run a zone or siren test immediately after fitting this cell. The C300 panel needs 24–48 hours on float charge before the BMS reports battery status as full. Testing too early triggers a false low-battery warning that clears on its own once float charge completes.

Why the C300 panel reports low battery immediately after a new cell is fitted

The C300 BMS does not read the physical cell voltage directly on first contact. It waits for the battery to complete an initial float charge cycle before updating its status register. A freshly installed cell — even one at correct voltage — will sit below the BMS threshold until that cycle runs. This is normal behaviour, not a fault with the cell or the panel. Leave the panel on mains power for 24–48 hours and the warning will clear without any further action.

Alarm panel loses programming during a power outage after battery replacement

If the panel drops its programming when mains power fails, the backup battery has not yet been accepted by the BMS — it is not yet supplying load current. This happens when the cell is installed but the 48-hour conditioning window has not passed. The panel draws from the backup battery only after the BMS confirms the cell has reached float charge. To protect programming before that window closes, avoid switching off mains power in the first 48 hours after fitting the new cell.

Frequently Asked Questions

My C300 panel is showing a low battery fault but I just put a brand new cell in — what's going on?

The C300 BMS does not clear the low-battery flag the moment a new cell is connected. It requires the battery to complete an initial float charge cycle, which takes 24–48 hours on live mains power. The fault will clear on its own once that cycle finishes — no engineer reset is needed. Leave the panel powered up and check the status display again after 48 hours.

The siren didn't sound during a test I ran straight after replacing the backup battery — is the new cell faulty?

The C300 panel applies a short stabilisation delay on new battery installations before it will drive the siren output at full current. Running a test within the first hour of fitting the cell can cause the siren to stay silent or fire weakly, even with a good cell installed. Wait at least one hour after installation, then trigger the test again. If the siren still doesn't fire after that delay, check the siren tamper loop and confirm the panel is not in engineer-inhibit mode.

The panel shows a tamper fault straight after I swapped the battery — I didn't touch anything else

A tamper fault immediately after a battery swap almost always means the panel enclosure lid or battery compartment cover is not fully seated. The C300 monitors a physical tamper contact on the housing; even slight misalignment trips the fault. Open the panel, reseat the cover, and press it firmly until you hear or feel it click into place. The tamper fault should clear within a few seconds of the contact closing.
