Fits Ring Alarm Home Base Station model SEB1N9-0000 with OEM part number SEB1N9-0000.
This 3.7V 5200mAh Li-ion cell restores full backup power capacity to the central hub during outages.
Connector slides into the base station battery slot with a single locking tab on the left side.
We bench-tested the cell in a Home Base Station unit; the BMS accepted the new pack after initial charge stabilization completed without fault codes.
Do not run a zone test for 24–48 hours after installation — the panel's fuel gauge requires float charging time before reporting accurate battery status.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Ring Alarm Home Base Station — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (SEB1N9-0000)

This 3.7V 5200mAh Li-ion cell replaces the internal backup battery in the Ring Alarm Home Base Station (SEB1N9-0000 / 4HB1U9-0EN0). It restores backup power so the hub continues managing sensors and sirens during mains outages. Capacity is sourced from the original spec: 5200mAh / 19.24Wh.

  • Hub model compatibility: The SEB1N9-0000 and 4HB1U9-0EN0 base stations share the same internal battery bay, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — one cell covers both variants without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge acceptance and BMS communication checks on the base station. The hub accepted the cell, completed the float charge cycle, and reported battery status correctly through the Ring app after the conditioning window.
  • Post-swap float charge window: Do not run a zone or siren diagnostic immediately after installing this cell. The Ring base station BMS requires the battery to reach full float charge — allow 24 to 48 hours on mains power before triggering any system test, otherwise the panel will flag a low battery warning even with a fresh cell installed.

Alarm panel losing programming during a power outage after battery replacement

If the base station loses its configuration during a mains outage shortly after a battery swap, the cell has not yet been accepted by the BMS. The Ring hub draws on backup power only after the battery has completed an initial conditioning cycle on float charge. A cell installed and immediately subjected to a real or simulated outage may not hold the hub long enough to retain programming. Keep the hub on mains for at least 48 hours post-installation before any power interruption occurs.

Ring app reports low battery within hours of fitting a new cell

This is a BMS reporting lag, not a faulty cell. The Ring base station reads battery state-of-charge through the internal BMS, which calibrates its reading during the first full float charge cycle. Until that cycle completes — typically 24 to 48 hours after installation — the hub may continue displaying the previous low-battery status. Leave the hub connected to mains power and check the app again after 48 hours. If the warning persists past that point, verify the cell connector is fully seated.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Ring base station siren didn't sound during a test I ran right after replacing the battery — is the new cell faulty?

The cell is almost certainly fine. The Ring hub applies a charge-stabilisation delay of 30 to 60 seconds on a freshly installed battery before enabling siren output on a test trigger. If the test was run immediately after swapping the cell, the hub suppresses the siren to protect the circuit during initial charge acceptance. Wait at least one hour after installation, then run the test again from the Ring app.

The base station shows a tamper fault on the app after I swapped the battery — what causes that?

A tamper fault after a battery swap almost always means the base station lid or rear cover is not fully closed. The Ring hub has a tamper contact that triggers when the enclosure is open or not properly latched. Re-seat the cover, press firmly until you hear or feel it click, and confirm all tabs are engaged. The tamper alert should clear within 60 seconds of the cover closing correctly.

The base station ran flat during a power cut even though we replaced the battery two days ago — why didn't it hold charge?

A 48-hour window on mains is the minimum for the BMS to complete its conditioning cycle and accept a full charge on the new cell. If the outage happened before that window closed, the cell may have only been partially charged — the hub draws backup power the moment mains drops, so a cell at 40% charge will deplete faster than expected. After power is restored, leave the hub on mains for a full 48 hours without interruption. Confirm the cell voltage reads at or above 4.1V at the connector before the next outage risk.
