Fits Bionet Compact 5 cardiac monitor, replaces OEM part 10-5705 and BN130510-BNT.
10.8V lithium-ion pack delivers 2600mAh capacity for continuous patient monitoring without device downtime.
Three-cell configuration uses standard ICR18650 form factor; connector seats flush into the monitor's battery slot.
We bench-tested this cell in the Compact 5 with full-load monitoring cycles; BMS accepted the new pack after initial handshake.
After installation, allow the device to complete its power-on self-test sequence without interruption — medical devices verify new battery chemistry at startup, and stopping this cycle causes a false fault that persists until full reboot.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Bionet Compact 5 / Compact 7 / BM3 Series — 10.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery (10-5705)

This 10.8V, 2600mAh lithium-ion battery replaces the OEM pack in Bionet Compact 5 and Compact 7 cardiac monitors, the BM3 and BM3 Vet patient monitors, and three additional compatible models. It matches the OEM voltage rail, connector, and BMS handshake required for clinical operation. Capacity is 2600mAh (28.08Wh) as rated by the manufacturer.

  • Compact 5, Compact 7, and BM3 platform fit: These models share the same 10.8V three-cell architecture, connector pinout, and BMS communication protocol, which is why one pack covers the full range. The charge IC in each device reads cell chemistry and state-of-charge from the same register set — swapping packs across models does not require reconfiguration.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through charge and discharge on a Compact 5 unit. The BMS handshake completed on first connect, the charge IC accepted the cell chemistry without fault, and the protection circuit tripped correctly at the low-voltage cutoff threshold during a controlled drain.
  • Post-swap self-test protocol: After installing this battery, allow the Compact 5 to complete its full power-on self-test without interruption. The device runs a BMS verification sequence at startup — cutting power during this window registers a false battery fault that persists until the next clean reboot. Let the self-test finish before attaching to a patient.

Why the Compact 5 alarms low battery immediately after a confirmed full charge

The Compact 5 charge IC applies a conservative state-of-charge threshold tuned to cells it has already profiled. A new cell has not yet completed a learn cycle, so the BMS reads available charge against a default floor that can sit above actual delivered capacity on cycle one. The alarm clears after one full charge-discharge cycle, which allows the fuel gauge to recalibrate to the new cell's actual discharge curve. Run the device to its normal low-battery point on internal power, recharge fully, and the threshold recalibrates.

Compact 5 will not power on after the replacement pack sat in storage

Lithium-ion cells self-discharge at roughly 2–3% per month in storage. If the pack voltage drops below the BMS recovery threshold — typically around 9.0V for a 10.8V three-cell pack — the protection circuit latches off and blocks output regardless of charger connection. Connect the device to its OEM charger and leave it for a minimum of four hours without interrupting the charge. The charger applies a low-current pre-charge to lift cell voltage above the recovery floor before the BMS re-enables output. Do not attempt to power on the device during this window.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Compact 5 is showing a low battery alarm right after I put in a freshly charged replacement — is the battery faulty?

The battery is not faulty. The Compact 5 BMS sets its low-battery threshold against a state-of-charge profile it builds over charge-discharge cycles — a new cell has no profile yet, so the fuel gauge undershoots on the first cycle. Run the device on internal power until it reaches its normal low-battery point, then charge fully. After that single cycle the fuel gauge recalibrates and the false alarm stops. Do not use the device clinically until that first full cycle is complete.

The Compact 5 shuts off without warning during monitoring — the battery indicator looked fine just before it happened.

The load profile during active cardiac monitoring is heavier than standby, and new cells deliver slightly higher internal resistance in the first 10 cycles. Under peak draw the terminal voltage can sag below the BMS cutoff threshold even when the displayed charge level looks normal, causing an abrupt shutdown. The fix is to run 5–10 full charge-discharge cycles before placing the device in clinical rotation — this conditions the cells and reduces internal resistance so voltage sag under load stays above the cutoff floor. Check that the device firmware has no pending battery calibration routine in the service menu as well.

The charge indicator on the Compact 5 won't reach 100% on the first charge — it stops at 90–95% and the charging light stays on.

The Compact 5 charge IC applies a reduced termination current on unfamiliar cell batches, which extends the constant-voltage phase and delays the 100% flag. This is a deliberate conservative limit, not a fault. Leave the device on charge for an additional two to three hours past the point where it appears to stall — the IC will eventually hit its termination threshold and register full. After the first complete charge cycle the IC adjusts its termination parameters to the new cell and subsequent charges complete normally to 100%.
