Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Creative DELUXE-70 / PC3000 Monitor — 14.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (CPLB-18650A)
This is a 14.4V, 3400mAh (48.96Wh) Li-ion replacement battery for the Creative DELUXE-70, Deluxe 70, Deluxe 100, and PC3000 patient monitor series. It replaces OEM part numbers CPLB-18650A, 2302-1482200, and 521732. When the original cell degrades, this restores the monitor's battery-backed operation.
- Monitor series compatibility: The DELUXE-70, Deluxe 100, and PC3000 share the same 14.4V battery bay, connector pinout, and BMS communication protocol — one cell fits across all listed models without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge, full-load discharge, and BMS handshake verification on the PC3000 platform. The protection circuit responded correctly to over-discharge and over-current conditions at expected thresholds.
- Power-on self-test after installation: After fitting the battery, allow the monitor to complete its full startup self-test without interrupting power. Medical device BMS firmware runs a verification sequence at boot — cutting power mid-sequence registers a false battery fault that persists until the next clean reboot.
Self-test failure after battery swap on the PC3000 and DELUXE series
The PC3000 and DELUXE monitors run a BMS learn cycle on first use to calibrate state-of-charge against the new cell's chemistry profile. A freshly installed battery that has not completed this cycle will fail the self-test because the firmware expects a known charge history. Run one complete charge-discharge cycle before placing the unit in clinical service. The monitor's battery gauge will read accurately from the second cycle onward.
Charge indicator not reaching 100% on the first charge
The charge IC in this monitor applies a conservative upper voltage limit on new cells — typically stopping at around 95–98% on the first pass. This is deliberate: the firmware holds back until cell impedance normalises. Do not assume the battery is faulty. Complete a full discharge to the low-battery cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to termination. After that cycle, the charge IC releases the conservative limit and the indicator reaches full.

Frequently Asked Questions
The monitor alarms low battery the moment I install a fully charged new battery — is the cell faulty?
The cell is not faulty. The PC3000 and DELUXE series BMS compares incoming state-of-charge data against a learned chemistry profile, and a new cell with no cycle history fails that threshold check even at full charge. Run one complete charge-discharge cycle — charge to termination, run the monitor until the low-battery cutoff triggers, then charge again fully. After that cycle, the BMS accepts the cell and the alarm clears.
The monitor will not power on after the replacement battery sat in storage — what do we do?
Li-ion cells self-discharge during storage, and if the voltage drops below approximately 10.8V the BMS enters deep-discharge protection and blocks output. Place the battery on charge immediately and leave it connected for a minimum of two hours before attempting to power the monitor. If the charge indicator does not activate within 15 minutes, the cell voltage may be below the charger's detection threshold — try a compatible Li-ion charger that supports recovery mode, which applies a low pre-charge current to bring the cell above 11V before switching to standard CC/CV charging.
The monitor is shutting off unexpectedly during use even though the battery showed adequate charge beforehand — what causes this?
New cells carry higher internal impedance in the first 10 cycles, which causes voltage to sag sharply under the monitor's load profile. The BMS reads this sag as a low-voltage condition and triggers a protective cutoff before the cell is actually depleted. This behaviour reduces as the cell conditions through use. To accelerate conditioning, run three to five full charge-discharge cycles under normal clinical load — each cycle lowers impedance and narrows the gap between resting voltage and on-load voltage, reducing premature cutoff events.
