Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

GIONEE GN151 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (BL-C008C)
This is a 3.7V Li-ion cell rated at 1550mAh (5.74Wh), built to the same BL-C008C spec as the original GIONEE GN151 battery. It fits the GN151 smartphone directly, matching the original connector, physical footprint (71.70 × 56.41 × 4.23 mm), and voltage rail. Swap it in when the original cell can no longer hold charge through a normal day of calls and messaging.
- GN151 fitment: The GN151 runs a single-cell 3.7V Li-ion architecture. This replacement matches that voltage rail exactly, uses the same BL-C008C connector orientation, and communicates with the phone's charge IC without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through full charge and discharge on a GN151 unit. The BMS accepted the charge profile correctly, voltage held steady under screen-on and active call load, and the protection circuit tripped at the expected cutoff points.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: After installing this cell, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge-to-charge cycle before normal use. The GN151's fuel gauge IC was calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve — one full cycle lets it map the new cell and report percentage accurately.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the GN151 after a cell swap
A fresh Li-ion cell has a steeper voltage cliff than a worn cell — the GN151's fuel gauge IC is still reading the old, gradual curve. Under modem or display load, the new cell's voltage drops faster than the IC expects, and the phone shuts down before it reports zero. This is a calibration gap, not a faulty battery. Run one full discharge from 100% to automatic shutdown, then charge to 100% uninterrupted. After that cycle, the coulomb counter resets to the new cell's actual curve and shutdowns at low percentage stop.
GN151 not powering on after the replacement battery sat in storage
Li-ion cells self-discharge in storage — if this battery sat long enough to drop below 2.5V per cell, the BMS enters a lockout state to prevent damage and the phone will not respond to the power button. Connect the phone to a wall charger, not a USB port, and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing anything. The charge IC delivers a trickle current that brings the cell back above the BMS re-enable threshold. Once the screen shows a charging indicator, the BMS has cleared and normal charging resumes.

Frequently Asked Questions
My GN151 shows the wrong battery percentage after I put in the new battery — is the cell faulty?
The cell is fine. The fuel gauge IC inside the GN151 builds its percentage estimate from the discharge curve of the old, worn cell — a new cell has a different curve, so the readings are off until the IC recalibrates. Run one complete discharge from 100% down to automatic shutdown, then charge back to 100% without interruption. After that single cycle, the coulomb counter resets against the new cell's actual curve and percentage reporting stabilises.
The GN151 feels warm near the battery while charging with the new cell — is that normal?
Some warmth is expected on the first few charge cycles. A new cell has higher internal impedance than a used one, and the charge IC pushes current into higher resistance until the cell conditions through its first cycles. If the phone is warm but not hot to the touch and charging completes normally, no action is needed. If it becomes too hot to hold comfortably, disconnect and check that the charger output matches the GN151's rated input — use a 5V/1A adapter to keep charge current in range.
Fast charging stopped working on my GN151 after fitting the replacement battery — what happened?
On the first charge cycle after a cell swap, the phone's charge IC sometimes falls back to standard 5V charging while it handshakes with the new BMS. This is a one-cycle behaviour, not a permanent fault. Complete one full standard charge cycle, then disconnect and reconnect the charger — the fast charge protocol should re-negotiate correctly. If it still doesn't engage, check that the cable supports the GN151's charge protocol, as a data-only cable will block the handshake entirely.
