Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

LG MS770 / Motion 4G / P870 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (BL-44JH)
This is a 3.7V, 1200mAh Li-ion cell built to the BL-44JH spec, fitting the LG MS770, Motion 4G, P870, US730, and over 45 additional LG handsets. It replaces the original EAC61839001 and EAC61839006 OEM cells. Install it when the original cell no longer holds voltage under screen or modem load.
- MS770 / Motion 4G platform fit: These models share the same battery bay dimensions (65.20 × 44.00 × 4.80mm), the same 3.7V nominal voltage rail, and the same connector pinout — so one cell covers the full group without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell on the MS770 and confirmed the BMS handshake completed cleanly, charge IC accepted current without error flags, and the protection circuit tripped correctly at the low-voltage cutoff threshold.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging and run one full discharge-to-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC map the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging begins against an uncalibrated coulomb counter.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the LG MS770 after a cell swap
The MS770's fuel gauge IC retains the discharge curve of the old cell in memory. When a new cell is installed, the IC's stored curve no longer matches actual cell voltage behaviour. Under modem or display load, the cell voltage dips below the threshold the IC expects at that percentage — and the phone cuts power before the gauge reaches zero. This is a calibration mismatch, not a faulty cell. One full discharge cycle from 100% to auto-shutoff, followed by a full charge, forces the coulomb counter to rebuild its curve against the new cell.
Phone won't power on after the replacement cell sat in storage
Li-ion cells self-discharge in storage. If the cell voltage dropped below approximately 2.5V, the BMS enters lockout mode to prevent damage — and the phone will not respond to the power button. Connect the phone to a wall charger, not a PC USB port, and leave it for 15–20 minutes without attempting to power on. The charge IC needs enough current headroom to nudge the cell above the BMS re-enable threshold, which sits around 2.9–3.0V on this platform.

Frequently Asked Questions
My LG MS770 keeps shutting off at around 25% after I put in the new battery — is the cell dead already?
The cell is almost certainly fine. The MS770's fuel gauge IC was calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve, so it misreads the new cell's voltage under load and triggers an early shutdown before the real charge is gone. Run one complete cycle — charge to 100%, use the phone until it shuts off on its own, then charge back to 100% without interruption. That resets the coulomb counter to the new cell's actual curve.
The phone feels warm near the battery compartment during the first few charges after the swap — should I be concerned?
A new high-impedance cell draws more heat from the charge IC during early cycles than a broken-in cell does. This is normal for the first two to three charges on the BL-44JH replacement and typically resolves as internal resistance drops. If the warmth persists past the third full charge or the phone becomes hot to the touch, check that the battery connector is fully seated — a partial connection increases contact resistance and generates additional heat at the terminal.
Fast charging stopped working on my LG Motion 4G after fitting the replacement battery — the phone just trickle charges now.
On the first cycle with a new cell, the charge IC on some LG handsets defaults to a conservative trickle rate until it completes one full charge profile and validates the BMS response. Charge the phone to 100% using the original OEM charger and cable without interrupting the session. On the next charge cycle, the IC should step up to its normal current. If fast charging still does not engage after two full cycles, check that the charger output meets the required voltage — the Motion 4G charge IC expects a stable 5V input to negotiate higher current.
