This 10.8V Li-ion battery replaces OEM part 1030950 in the Medtronic SCD700 implantable cardioverter-defibrillator. Rated at 2600mAh (28.08Wh), it matches the voltage and capacity profile the device BMS expects. The SCD700 monitors cardiac rhythm and delivers therapeutic shocks — battery integrity is not optional.
- SCD700 platform fit: The SCD700 BMS authenticates the battery at startup using voltage signature and chemistry type. This cell holds the 10.8V Li-ion profile the controller checks for. A voltage mismatch at that handshake triggers a persistent fault state, not just a warning.

Device not completing boot sequence after the battery sat in storage
Li-ion cells self-discharge during storage. If voltage drops below the SCD700's BMS recovery threshold — typically around 9V for a 10.8V nominal pack — the controller won't attempt a boot. The battery isn't dead; it's below the floor the BMS will accept without a recovery charge. Connect to the charger for a minimum of two hours before attempting power-on. If the charge indicator responds and voltage climbs above 10V, the boot sequence will proceed normally on the next attempt.

Not necessarily. The SCD700's load profile during arrhythmia detection and shock delivery stresses a new cell harder than a conditioned one. In the first 10 cycles, internal resistance is slightly elevated, which can cause a brief voltage sag under high-draw events — enough for the BMS to trigger a protective cutoff. Complete the BMS learn cycle with 10 full charge-discharge passes before clinical use, and verify resting voltage reads 10.8V or above between sessions.
The charge indicator on the SCD700 won't reach 100% on the first charge with the new battery — is something wrong with the charger?
The charge IC applies a conservative current limit on a new or unrecognised cell until it has logged a verified charge cycle. That means the first charge often terminates at 95–98% by the display reading, even though the cell accepted a full charge. Run a second full charge cycle — the IC relaxes its limit once it has a completed cycle on record, and the indicator reaches 100% from that point forward.
