Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Meilan Note 3 — 3.85V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery
This is a 3.85V, 4000mAh lithium-polymer replacement battery for the Meilan Note 3 smartphone. It replaces a degraded or failed original cell and restores normal phone operation. Capacity figure is taken directly from the product specification: 4000mAh / 15.4Wh.
- Meilan Note 3 fitment: This cell matches the voltage rail, physical footprint (80.60 × 64.50 × 4.50mm), and connector orientation of the Note 3 battery bay. The BMS handshake communicates charge state to the phone's power management IC over the standard two-wire interface used on this platform.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled the cell through charge and discharge on the Note 3 board. The BMS held charge termination correctly at full capacity, and no thermal cutoff events were triggered across three full cycles from 0 to 100 percent.
- First-cycle fuel gauge recalibration: After fitting this cell, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge-to-charge cycle at standard current. This lets the fuel gauge IC map the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging pushes current into an uncalibrated state counter.
Why the Note 3 reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap
The Note 3 uses a coulomb-counting fuel gauge IC that tracks charge by measuring current flow over time. When the original cell is removed, the IC loses its reference point and applies its stored discharge curve to the new cell — which has different impedance characteristics. This mismatch causes the displayed percentage to drift from actual cell voltage, sometimes significantly. One full slow-charge cycle resets the coulomb counter and aligns the reported figure to the real state of charge.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell
This happens when the modem or display triggers a high-current draw that the cell cannot sustain at its present voltage level, causing terminal voltage to sag below the BMS cutoff threshold even though the reported percentage looks safe. The fuel gauge IC is still running on stale calibration data from the old cell, so it reports 25% when the actual usable charge is near empty. Run one complete discharge cycle without fast charging — let the phone shut down at 0% naturally — then charge fully to 100%. After that cycle, the percentage reading and actual cell capacity will track together correctly.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Meilan Note 3 won't turn on after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for a few months — is the cell dead?
It is likely not dead, but the BMS has locked out due to cell voltage dropping below 2.5V during storage. Connect the phone to a wall charger — not a computer USB port — and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing the power button. The charge IC needs to trickle-feed the cell back above the BMS recovery threshold before the phone will respond. If the charging indicator still does not appear after 30 minutes, try a different cable and verify the charger outputs at least 5V 1A.
Fast charging stopped working on my Note 3 after I fitted this battery — the phone only charges slowly now.
On the first cycle after a cell swap, the phone's power management IC sometimes falls back to standard 5V charging because it cannot verify the new BMS within the USB-PD or proprietary fast-charge handshake window. Complete one full slow charge from near-empty to 100%, then unplug and restart the phone. After that cycle, the fast-charge protocol re-negotiates correctly and full charge current resumes — confirm by checking the charge mode indicator in the battery settings menu.
The phone feels warm near the battery area while charging with the new cell — is that normal?
A freshly installed lithium-polymer cell has slightly higher internal impedance than a cell that has been through several charge cycles. During the first few charges, the charge IC dissipates more energy as heat while pushing current into the higher-impedance cell, which is what you are feeling. The warmth should reduce noticeably after two or three full cycles as the cell impedance settles. If the phone becomes too hot to hold comfortably, or if it exceeds roughly 40°C on the back surface, remove it from the charger and let it cool before resuming.
