Fits MWG 401 smartphone, replaces OEM part UBI-4-1300 battery.
3.7V and 1700mAh capacity delivers full-cycle power for calls, messaging, and apps.
Connector slides straight into the 401 battery slot with standard locking tab engagement.
We bench-tested this cell in the 401 platform — BMS accepted the charge curve on first insertion, no fault delay observed.
On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle so the fuel gauge IC recalibrates against this cell's discharge curve before high-current charging.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

MWG 401 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (UBI-4-1300)

This is a 3.7V, 1700mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the MWG 401 smartphone. It replaces OEM part number UBI-4-1300 and slots into the same battery bay as the original cell. Use this when the factory battery no longer holds charge or triggers unexpected shutdowns.

  • MWG 401 fitment: The 401 uses a single-cell 3.7V nominal Li-ion architecture with a BMS that checks cell voltage at power-on. This replacement matches the connector pinout and voltage profile that BMS handshake expects on boot.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through full charge-discharge cycles on a controlled rig. The BMS accepted the cell without protection-circuit lockout, and charge termination triggered correctly at 4.2V.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: After installation, disable fast charging and run one full discharge-to-charge cycle before normal use. The fuel gauge IC on the MWG 401 calibrates its coulomb counter against the cell's discharge curve — skipping this step causes erratic percentage readings in the first few days.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the MWG 401 after a cell swap

This is a voltage cliff issue, not a capacity defect. Under modem transmission or screen-at-full-brightness load, the new cell's internal resistance causes a sharper voltage drop than the fuel gauge IC predicts from its old lookup table. The phone interprets this drop as a critically low cell and cuts power to protect the hardware. One full discharge-to-shutdown cycle followed by a complete charge resets the coulomb counter and shifts the IC's cutoff mapping to match the new cell's actual discharge curve.

MWG 401 not powering on after sitting in storage with a flat battery

If the cell discharged below approximately 2.5V in storage, the BMS enters lockout mode and blocks current flow to protect the cell from damage. The phone will not respond to a short press of the power button and may show no charging animation. Connect to a low-current USB charger — not a fast charger — and leave it for 20–30 minutes without attempting to power on. Once the cell climbs back above 3.0V, the BMS releases its lockout and the phone will boot normally.

Frequently Asked Questions

The MWG 401 shows 25% battery then cuts off completely — is the new cell faulty?

The cell is almost certainly not faulty. After a cell swap, the fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve, so it misreads the voltage cliff on the new cell and triggers a premature shutdown. Run one complete discharge — use the phone until it shuts off on its own — then charge uninterrupted to 100% without fast charging enabled. That single cycle resets the coulomb counter and the shutdowns stop.

Fast charging stopped working the first time I plugged in the replacement battery — what happened?

On the first charge cycle after a cell swap, the USB-PD or proprietary fast-charge protocol handshake sometimes fails because the BMS presents a higher impedance on a fresh cell than the charge IC expects. The phone defaults to standard 5V charging as a safety fallback. Unplug, wait 30 seconds, and reconnect — most BMS units re-negotiate the protocol on the second connection once the cell has a small charge present. If fast charging still does not engage, complete one full standard charge cycle first.

The battery percentage on my MWG 401 is jumping around erratically after I put the new cell in — is something wrong with the installation?

Nothing is wrong with the installation. The fuel gauge IC uses a stored discharge curve from the old cell to estimate remaining capacity — with a new cell in place, those reference points no longer match, so the percentage reading jumps as the IC tries to reconcile real voltage with its outdated map. Complete one full discharge-to-shutdown cycle followed by a full uninterrupted charge to 100%, and the IC will rebuild its calibration map against the new cell. Erratic readings clear within one to two cycles.
