This is a 3.7V, 3400mAh Li-ion cell that replaces the internal battery in the Philip Morris iQos Charger and iQos 2.4 Plus Charger Box. The charger box stores charge and delivers it to the iQos holder between sessions. When the original cell degrades, the box fails to keep the holder topped up through a normal day of use.

What looks like the box "running out faster" is usually the BMS protecting a degraded cell, not a fault in the holder itself. Replacing the internal cell restores the full charge reservoir the box was built around.

After fitting a new cell, the BMS occasionally needs a full initialisation cycle before it passes charge to the holder contacts. If the holder shows no charge activity, connect the charger box to mains power and let it charge fully — this completes the BMS initialisation pass. Once the box reaches a full charge state (indicator shows complete), disconnect from mains and seat the holder. The output circuit should activate normally at that point, with the cell resting at approximately 4.2V.

Some warmth during self-discharge is normal, but a box that stays noticeably warm at rest points to a cell with elevated internal resistance — common in heavily cycled originals. A fresh cell at 3.7V nominal should sit at room temperature during standby. If warmth persists after fitting this replacement, check that the cell contacts are clean and making full surface contact, then measure resting voltage — it should hold above 3.6V after 30 minutes off charge.
After replacing the battery, the iQos charger box indicator flashes but never completes a full charge — what's the fix?
A looping flash pattern usually means the BMS has not completed its initialisation handshake with the new cell.
