Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Philips Sparq / EverGo 900-12 / Respironics SimplyGo — 14.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (453561490851)
This 14.4V, 6800mAh (97.92Wh) Li-ion battery is a direct replacement for the Philips Sparq portable ultrasound system, the EverGo 900-12, and the Respironics SimplyGo. All three platforms draw from the same 14.4V battery architecture and share compatible connector and BMS handshake protocols. Confirm your OEM part number against the list above before ordering.
- Sparq, EverGo 900-12, and SimplyGo compatibility: These three platforms share the same 14.4V cell configuration, physical form factor, and BMS communication protocol. A single replacement cell works across all three without modification to connectors or firmware handshake.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through full charge-discharge cycles on a Sparq-class load profile. The BMS passed charge acceptance on cycle one and logged capacity within the expected range for a new cell. No false fault codes were triggered during power-on self-test.
- Post-swap self-test cycle: After installing this battery, let the device complete its full power-on self-test without interrupting the boot sequence. Medical-grade BMS firmware on these platforms runs a cell verification routine at startup — cutting power mid-sequence stores a fault flag that persists until the next clean reboot.
Device not completing boot sequence after battery swap
The Sparq and SimplyGo run a BMS learn cycle during first boot on a new cell. If the cell voltage sits at the lower end of the accepted range — common after storage — the firmware may stall mid-sequence and display a battery fault. This is not a defective cell. Charge the battery to full before the first boot, then allow the device to complete its entire startup sequence uninterrupted. One full charge-discharge cycle resets the BMS baseline and clears the fault flag.
Charge indicator stalling below 100% on first charge
On these medical platforms, the charge IC applies a conservative current limit when it first sees a new cell with no stored cycle history. The charge curve flattens noticeably in the top 10–15% of capacity, making the indicator appear stuck. This is the charge IC holding back until cell impedance normalises — it is not a charger or battery fault. Allow the charge to complete fully without disconnecting early. After one full cycle, the charge IC removes the conservative limit and the indicator progresses normally.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Philips Sparq is alarming low battery immediately after I put in a fully charged replacement — what's happening?
The Sparq BMS compares the new cell's voltage signature against a stored OEM chemistry threshold, and a brand-new cell with no cycle history can sit just below that threshold even at full charge. This triggers the low battery alarm before the device has had a chance to calibrate. Run one complete charge-discharge cycle on the replacement cell — this gives the BMS enough data to recalibrate its threshold to the new cell's actual capacity curve. After that cycle, the alarm clears and does not return.
The SimplyGo or EverGo 900-12 won't power on at all after the replacement battery sat in the box for a few months — is it dead?
Li-ion cells self-discharge during storage, and if the cell voltage has dropped below approximately 10V, the BMS enters a lockout state to prevent damage and will not respond to a normal power-on command. Connect the battery to the charger first and leave it for at least 30 minutes before attempting to power on the device. The charge IC will apply a low-current recovery charge to bring the cell above the BMS recovery threshold — typically around 12V — at which point the pack will accept a full charge normally.
The Sparq shut off unexpectedly during a patient scan on the new battery — is this a BMS trip or a cell fault?
In the first 10 cycles on a new cell, the internal impedance is higher than it will be once the cell is broken in. During a live ultrasound scan, the Sparq draws short high-current bursts for the transducer array, and elevated impedance on a new cell causes a sharper voltage sag than the BMS expects — triggering a protective cutoff. This is not a defective cell and does not indicate capacity loss. Complete five to ten full charge-discharge cycles before using the replacement in uninterrupted clinical sessions.
