Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Philips TC10 / TC20 — 11.1V Li-ion Replacement Battery (989803185291)
This 11.1V 4800mAh Li-ion battery replaces the OEM pack in the Philips TC10 and TC20 portable patient monitors. It covers ECG, SpO₂, heart rate, and blood pressure monitoring duties during transport or when mains power is unavailable. Capacity is 4800mAh (53.28Wh), matching the original specification from Philips part numbers 989803185291, 453564402681, and 0411001.
- TC10 and TC20 platform fit: Both monitors share the same battery bay geometry, connector pinout, and BMS communication protocol. One replacement pack covers either unit without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through the TC10 boot sequence and monitored BMS handshake behaviour under clinical load. The protection circuit handled the device's multi-parameter polling correctly, with no voltage drop events flagged during the test cycle.
- Post-installation self-test protocol: After fitting this battery, allow the TC10 or TC20 to complete its full power-on self-test without interruption. The device runs a BMS verification step at startup — cutting power during this window triggers a false battery fault that persists until the next clean reboot.
Device not completing boot sequence on a new battery
The TC10 runs a BMS learn cycle on first use with a new cell. If the pack shipped or sat in storage at a reduced state of charge, the device may halt partway through boot and display a battery fault. This is not a dead pack — the BMS has not yet verified the cell's capacity curve against its internal threshold. Charge the battery fully before the first boot attempt, then allow the self-test to run without interruption.
TC10 low-battery alarm firing immediately after a confirmed full charge
This happens when the BMS threshold check runs before the new cell has completed one full charge-discharge cycle. The TC10's charge IC applies a conservative verification limit on unfamiliar cells, and the first cycle often reads slightly below the alarm threshold. Run one complete charge and discharge cycle under normal device use before treating any alarm as a genuine fault. After that first cycle, the alarm behaviour normalises and the pack registers correctly at 11.1V nominal.

Frequently Asked Questions
The TC10 is shutting off unexpectedly during patient monitoring even though the battery was fully charged before the shift — what's causing this?
New Li-ion cells carry elevated internal resistance for the first 8–10 cycles, and the TC10's multi-parameter load profile draws harder than most devices of this size. That combination causes the BMS to trip a protective cutoff under peak load before the cell has broken in. Run three to five full charge-discharge cycles during non-critical use before relying on the pack for uninterrupted monitoring. After break-in, the shutdowns stop.
The battery sat unused for several months and now the TC10 won't power on at all — is the pack recoverable?
Li-ion cells self-discharge in storage, and if the pack dropped below approximately 2.5V per cell (7.5V total for this 3S pack), the BMS locks out to prevent damage. Most chargers won't initiate a charge cycle on a pack in this state. Connect the battery to the TC10 charger and leave it for at least 60 minutes without interrupting the connection — the charger's recovery circuit applies a trickle pre-charge to bring the cells back above the BMS unlock threshold before switching to full charge.
The charge indicator on the TC10 won't reach 100% on the first charge of the new battery — is the pack underspec?
The TC10 charge IC applies a conservative current limit on the first charge of a new cell while it maps the capacity curve. The indicator commonly stops at 95–98% and the device reports the battery as not fully charged. This is normal behaviour on cycle one. Complete a full discharge under normal monitoring use, then recharge — the indicator reaches 100% from the second cycle onward as the charge IC accepts the cell's verified capacity data.
