Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Prestigio MultiPhone 4044 Duo — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (PAP4044 DUO)
This 3.7V, 1500mAh Li-ion cell is a direct swap for the original battery in the Prestigio MultiPhone 4044 Duo dual-SIM Android smartphone. It fits the PAP4044 DUO platform and restores power to phones that no longer hold a charge or fail to power on. Capacity is 1500mAh (5.55Wh) — matching the original specification exactly.
- MultiPhone 4044 Duo platform fit: The PAP4044 DUO uses a fixed connector pinout and a BMS that expects a 3.7V nominal cell. This replacement matches that voltage rail and connector layout, so the phone's charge IC and fuel gauge IC see the cell correctly on first boot.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through a full discharge and charge sequence on a PAP4044 Duo unit. The BMS accepted the cell without lockout, the charge IC ramped normally through CC/CV phases, and the fuel gauge initialised without throwing a fault.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle. The fuel gauge IC on this phone was calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve. Running one full cycle at standard charge current lets it recalibrate before high-current charging pushes into an uncalibrated cell model.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the MultiPhone 4044 Duo after a cell swap
This happens because the fuel gauge IC still holds the discharge curve of the old, degraded cell. A fresh cell has a steeper voltage cliff at the low end — the phone reads 25% but the cell voltage is already near the BMS cutoff threshold under modem or screen load. The phone shuts down to protect the cell, even though the percentage shown looks safe. One full discharge-charge cycle on the new cell forces the coulomb counter to resync its model. After that cycle, the percentage readout tracks accurately against the new cell's actual curve.
Phone not powering on after the replacement battery sat in storage
Li-ion cells self-discharge slowly during storage. If this cell arrived at or below 2.5V per cell, the BMS may have entered a lockout state to prevent damage. Do not attempt a normal boot — connect to a wall charger first and leave it for at least 20 minutes before pressing the power button. If the phone still shows no response, confirm the charger is delivering current by checking for any charge LED activity. A locked-out BMS will typically recover once the cell is nudged above 2.9V through the charger's trickle-charge phase.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Prestigio MultiPhone 4044 Duo shows 25% battery then cuts off without warning — is that a faulty replacement cell?
Almost certainly not a faulty cell. The fuel gauge IC was calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve, so the percentage shown is wrong — the new cell's voltage drops faster under modem or screen load than the gauge expects, triggering the BMS cutoff while the display still reads mid-range. Run one complete discharge down to automatic shutdown, then charge fully to 100% without interruption. After that single calibration cycle, the reported percentage should track the actual cell voltage correctly.
Fast charging stopped working on my 4044 Duo after I fitted this replacement battery — the phone only charges slowly now.
This is a fuel gauge and charge-IC behaviour on first cycle, not a permanent fault. The phone's charge controller defaults to a conservative charge rate when it detects an uncalibrated cell — it does not yet trust the BMS data coming from the new cell, so it stays in slow-charge mode as a precaution. Complete one full standard charge to 100% and allow the fuel gauge IC to finish its first recalibration pass. On the second charge, the phone should resume its normal charge rate automatically.
The MultiPhone 4044 Duo gets noticeably warm near the battery compartment while charging the new cell — is that normal?
Some warmth on the first few charge cycles is expected. A new cell has slightly higher internal impedance than a broken-in cell, so the charge IC dissipates a little more heat as it pushes current through CC phase. As long as the phone is not hot to the touch and the warmth fades after the CC-to-CV transition — typically when the percentage climbs above 80% — there is no fault. If the phone stays hot all the way to 100% after three or four cycles, check that nothing is blocking airflow around the back cover during charging.
