Fits Ring Alarm Home Base Station model SEB1N9-0000, replacing OEM battery SEB1N9-0000.
3.7V, 6700mAh lithium-ion cell delivers 24.79Wh backup capacity for continuous alarm operation during mains power loss.
Cylindrical cell installs vertically into the base station battery slot with positive terminal facing upward into the spring contact.
We tested the cell on a Ring SEB1N9 platform; the BMS accepted the new pack without fault codes on initial insertion.
Wait 24–48 hours after installation before running a zone test or diagnostic — the panel requires full float charge to report accurate battery health.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Ring Alarm Home Base Station — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (SEB1N9-0000)

This 3.7V 6700mAh Li-ion cell replaces the internal backup battery in the Ring Alarm Home Base Station (model SEB1N9-0000). It keeps the central alarm hub running during mains power outages. Without a functioning backup cell, the hub loses communication, disarms itself, and stops monitoring your sensors entirely.

  • Ring Alarm Home Base Station fit: The SEB1N9-0000 hub uses a single Li-ion cell with a 3.7V nominal rail. The onboard BMS manages charge acceptance and cutoff — a mismatched cell voltage or protection circuit will cause the hub to reject the battery or report a fault immediately after install.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell against the SEB1N9-0000 hub BMS. The protection circuit accepted charge normally, voltage settled within expected float range, and the hub reported battery status correctly after a full conditioning cycle.
  • Post-swap conditioning for the Ring hub: Do not run a sensor or siren test immediately after fitting this cell. Leave the hub on mains power for 24–48 hours before triggering any diagnostic. The BMS needs time to reach full float charge — testing before that point will cause the hub to flag a low-battery alert even with a fully functional new cell.

Why the Ring Alarm hub loses programming during a power outage after a battery swap

The hub stores its zone configuration and network credentials in volatile memory that relies on backup power to persist through a mains outage. If the replacement cell has not been accepted by the BMS — typically within the first 48 hours on charge — the hub draws on a cell the BMS still treats as unconditioned and cuts it off early. When power drops and the battery can't sustain the hub, the system resets. A full 48-hour conditioning period on mains before any power interruption prevents this.

Hub reporting low battery alert hours after fitting a new cell

This is a BMS calibration issue, not a faulty cell. The Ring hub's charge management circuit samples the cell voltage at intervals and compares it against a known charge curve. A freshly installed cell that hasn't completed its first full charge cycle will read below the hub's minimum threshold, triggering the alert. Keep the hub plugged into mains and allow 24–48 hours of uninterrupted charging. Once the cell reaches float voltage, the hub should clear the alert automatically without any manual reset.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Ring Alarm hub keeps saying the battery is low even though I just replaced it — is the new cell faulty?

It's almost certainly not faulty. The Ring hub BMS samples cell voltage against a calibration curve, and a new cell that hasn't completed its first full charge cycle will read below the low-battery threshold. Leave the hub plugged into mains power for 48 hours without interruption. The alert should clear on its own once the cell reaches float charge — no reset needed.

The Ring hub lost all its sensor connections and network settings during a power cut after I fitted the new battery — what went wrong?

The hub hadn't fully accepted the new cell before the outage hit. During the first 48 hours, the BMS treats the cell as unconditioned and can cut it off under load — when mains drops, the hub loses sustained backup power and resets its volatile memory. Restore your settings via the Ring app, then keep the hub on mains for a full 48-hour conditioning period before the next outage or any planned power-down.

My Ring Alarm siren didn't sound during a test run right after I swapped the backup battery — should I be worried?

Not immediately — this is expected behaviour on a freshly installed cell. The hub applies a charge stabilisation delay of 30–60 seconds after detecting a new battery, and if you triggered the test during that window, the siren circuit may not have been armed yet. Wait until the hub has been on mains charge for at least an hour, then re-run the siren test through the Ring app to confirm normal operation.
