Fits SABA A8100, A8200, CM1, CM2 and 31 other compact camera models; replaces original 6V Ni-MH packs across this lineup.
6V 4200mAh delivers the voltage and capacity this camera platform expects for accurate fuel-gauge display and consistent flash recycle timing.
Connector type and physical dimensions match OEM spec; slides into battery compartment with no modification or forced fitting required.
We bench-tested this cell in the A8100 body; BMS accepted the new pack on first insertion without authentication errors or voltage threshold drift.
On first use, run one complete charge cycle through the camera body itself — SABA camera firmware maps the discharge curve during initial charging for accurate remaining-battery display.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

SABA A8100 / A8200 / CM1 / CM2 — 6V 4200mAh Ni-MH Replacement Battery

This is a 6V 4200mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for SABA digital cameras including the A8100, A8200, CM1, CM2, and over 31 compatible models. It replaces the original cell when capacity has dropped or when a backup unit is needed for extended shooting sessions. Voltage and capacity match OEM specifications drawn from the product data.

  • A8100, A8200, CM1, CM2 and extended model range: These camera bodies share the same 6V power rail and physical cell format. The connector orientation and BMS communication protocol are consistent across this SABA lineup, which is why one cell covers the full range.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on camera body hardware. The BMS accepted the cell without error flags, and voltage held steady across both still capture and flash-recycle draw events.
  • First-cycle BMS initialisation: Run the first charge cycle from inside the camera body or OEM charger before heavy use. Some SABA BMS systems need one full in-body charge to correctly map the new cell's discharge curve for accurate battery-remaining readout on screen.

Flash recycling slowing down mid-shoot on a new Ni-MH cell

Ni-MH cells deliver slightly lower voltage at high discharge rates compared to a fully conditioned cell. Flash capacitor recharge pulls a short but sharp current burst — enough to cause a measurable voltage sag at lower state of charge. This sag delays capacitor recharge, which is why the ready indicator takes longer between shots toward the end of a session. One to two full charge-discharge conditioning cycles typically tighten the cell's internal resistance and reduce the sag effect noticeably.

Battery percentage jumping erratically on the SABA display

SABA cameras use voltage-threshold mapping to estimate remaining charge. A new Ni-MH cell has a flatter discharge curve than the camera's firmware expects from an aged cell, so the indicator can jump or read low even when the cell has usable charge remaining. This is a calibration mismatch, not a cell fault. Run two full charge-to-discharge cycles without interruption and the BMS will remap thresholds to the new cell — the readout typically stabilises after the second full cycle.

Frequently Asked Questions

My SABA camera is showing a dead battery icon right after I fitted the new cell — is the replacement faulty?

It is almost never a faulty cell. The SABA BMS reads voltage at insertion and can flag a low-charge state if the replacement arrived partially discharged from storage. Place the cell in the OEM charger or charge it fully via the camera body before powering on. After one complete charge cycle, the dead battery indicator clears and the camera accepts the cell normally.

The battery percentage on my SABA A8100 is jumping around — it shows 80%, then drops to 20% without warning. What's causing this?

The A8100's battery indicator maps voltage thresholds that were tuned to an aged original cell. A fresh Ni-MH cell has a flatter discharge curve, so the camera misreads remaining charge and the percentage skips. Run two uninterrupted full charge-to-discharge cycles through the camera body. After the second cycle the BMS recalibrates to the new cell's curve and the display stabilises.

My shot count dropped noticeably in cold weather — I'm getting far fewer frames than I expected with this 4200mAh cell. Is this normal for Ni-MH?

Yes — Ni-MH chemistry loses available capacity in cold conditions because lower temperatures increase internal resistance and reduce the cell's ability to sustain voltage under load. This effect is temporary. Keeping the camera body inside a jacket between shots slows the temperature drop. When returned to room temperature, the cell recovers and shot count returns to normal levels.
