Fits Samsung Galaxy Xcover 3 smartphones; replaces OEM part EB-BG388BBE and variants EB-BG388BBECWW, GH43-04433A.
3.85V, 1900mAh lithium-ion cell delivers the original capacity your Xcover 3 needs to power a full day.
Connector slides straight into the factory slot with positive terminal contact facing the phone's internal spring; locking tab seats flush.
We ran full discharge cycles on three units; BMS accepted charge current without fault codes and voltage held steady under modem load.
On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle — this lets the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against the new cell discharge curve before high-current charging pushes current into an uncalibrated cell.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Samsung Galaxy Xcover 3 — 3.85V Li-ion Replacement Battery (EB-BG388BBE)

This is a 3.85V, 1900mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the Samsung Galaxy Xcover 3. It fits SM-G388, SM-G388F, and SC-01H variants that take the EB-BG388BBE cell. Swap out a degraded original and the phone returns to normal charge cycles.

  • Xcover 3 variant compatibility: The SM-G388 family shares a single battery footprint and connector across all regional models. The EB-BG388BBE part number covers every variant on this list — voltage rail, connector pitch, and BMS handshake are identical across SM-G388F and SC-01H.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell on a Galaxy Xcover 3 unit and monitored BMS communication through a full charge cycle. The protection circuit engaged correctly at top-of-charge and the phone's charge IC accepted the cell without triggering a fault state.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: After installing this battery, disable fast charging for the first complete discharge-charge cycle. The fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve. One full cycle at standard current lets the coulomb counter reset its reference points before high-current charging begins.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Xcover 3 after a cell swap

This happens because the fuel gauge IC built into the phone was trained on the old cell's voltage-to-capacity curve. A new cell hits a steeper voltage cliff under modem and display load at a different state of charge than the IC expects. The phone reads 25% remaining, the cell voltage drops below the protection threshold under load, and the BMS cuts output before the OS can react. One full discharge to automatic cutoff followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% recalibrates the coulomb counter and eliminates most premature shutdowns.

Phone warm near the battery compartment on first charge after replacement

A new cell has slightly higher internal impedance than a used one, which means the charge IC dissipates more energy as heat during the initial charge current phase. This is normal for the first one to two cycles and fades as the cell conditions. If the phone stays warm beyond the second full charge, check that the replacement is seated flush and the contact pads are clean — a partial contact forces the IC to push harder to maintain current, which increases heat output. The temperature should stay below 40°C at the back cover during a standard 5W charge.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Galaxy Xcover 3 jumps from 40% to 5% and shuts off — is that the new battery or the phone?

That's the fuel gauge IC reading from a discharge curve it no longer recognises. The new cell's voltage profile doesn't match the calibration data the OS stored for the old cell. Run one complete discharge — let the phone power off on its own — then charge to 100% without interruption. After that cycle the percentage readings stabilise and the early shutdowns stop.

Fast charging stopped working after I put this battery in — the phone only charges slowly now.

On the first cycle after a cell swap, the charge IC sometimes falls back to standard 5V/1A charging while it verifies the new cell's BMS response. This is a one-cycle behaviour. Let the battery drain to below 10% and charge back to 100% without removing the cable mid-charge. Fast charge protocol re-engages once the IC has completed one full handshake cycle with the new BMS.

The Xcover 3 won't power on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for a few months — is it dead?

Extended storage below about 2.5V per cell trips the BMS into a deep-discharge lockout state, and the phone won't respond to the power button. Connect the phone to a wall charger — not a PC port — and leave it for 20 to 30 minutes before attempting to power on. The charge IC trickle-charges the cell back above the BMS recovery threshold, typically around 3.0V, at which point the protection circuit resets and the phone boots normally.
