Fits Samsung SGH-i997 Infuse 4G and replaces OEM battery EB555157VA and EB555157VABSTD.
3.7V and 1850mAh lithium-ion cell delivers the original power capacity for normal smartphone operation.
Connector slides onto the SGH-i997 battery contact strip with a single locking tab on the left edge.
We ran discharge cycles on a known-good SGH-i997 unit — the BMS accepted the cell without fault codes and voltage held steady under modem load.
On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle so the fuel gauge IC recalibrates against this cell's discharge curve.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Samsung SGH-i997 / Galaxy S Infuse 4G — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (EB555157VA)

This is a 3.7V, 1850mAh Li-ion replacement for the EB555157VA battery. It fits the Samsung SGH-i997 (Infuse 4G), SGH-i757, SGH-I757M, and three additional variants sharing the same battery footprint. The cell dimensions are 56.00 x 50.20 x 5.20mm — a direct physical match to the original compartment.

  • SGH-i997 / i757 platform fit: These models share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. One cell SKU covers the full group because the charge IC negotiation is identical across all listed variants.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the SGH-i997 platform. The BMS accepted the charge IC handshake without triggering an authentication fault, and the coulomb counter initialised normally on the first full cycle.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: Disable fast charging for the first complete discharge-charge cycle after fitting this cell. The fuel gauge IC on the i997 calibrates its discharge curve during that initial cycle — running fast charge into an uncalibrated cell can skew the percentage readings for the life of the battery.

Why the Infuse 4G shuts down suddenly at 20–30% after a cell swap

The SGH-i997 uses a coulomb counter that was calibrated against the original cell's discharge curve. A new cell has a steeper voltage drop near the lower end of its charge state. When the modem fires or the screen peaks in brightness, the instantaneous current draw pulls the cell voltage below the BMS cutoff threshold — even though the displayed percentage still reads 20–30%. The phone reads the voltage collapse as a fault and shuts down immediately. One full uninterrupted discharge-charge cycle resets the coulomb counter and aligns the percentage display to the new cell's actual curve.

Phone won't power on after the replacement battery sat in storage

Li-ion cells self-discharge at roughly 1–3% per month in storage. If the battery shipped or sat unused long enough to drop below 2.5V per cell, the BMS enters a protection lockout and blocks normal charging to prevent damage. The phone shows nothing — no boot screen, no charging animation. Connect the device to a wall charger rated at 5V/1A or higher and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing the power button. The charge IC will trickle current into the cell until it clears the 2.5V recovery threshold, at which point normal charging resumes.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Infuse 4G percentage jumps around erratically after I put in the new battery — is something wrong with it?

Nothing is wrong with the cell. The fuel gauge IC on the SGH-i997 is still running the discharge model it built against your old, degraded battery. The new cell has a different voltage-to-capacity curve, so the IC misreads where it is in the cycle. Run one full uninterrupted discharge down to auto-shutdown, then charge to 100% without interruption. The coulomb counter resets against the new curve during that cycle and percentage reporting stabilises.

Fast charging stopped working the first time I plugged in the replacement — my charger worked fine before.

The charge IC on the SGH-i997 performs a brief negotiation handshake when a new cell is detected. On the first connection, some chargers don't complete that handshake before the IC falls back to standard 5V charging. Unplug and replug the charger after the phone has been on for two minutes — give the BMS time to initialise fully before the charger attempts protocol negotiation. If fast charge still doesn't engage, try a different USB cable, as a resistive cable can prevent the handshake from completing at the correct voltage.

The phone feels warm near the battery while charging — is the new cell faulty?

Warmth during early charging cycles on a new cell is normal. A fresh high-impedance cell converts a slightly higher proportion of charge current to heat until the internal resistance settles after a few cycles. If the phone is warm but not hot to the touch and charging completes normally, the cell is behaving correctly. If the back becomes too hot to hold or charging stops before reaching 100%, disconnect the charger, let the device cool to room temperature, then resume charging at 3.7V with a standard 5V/1A wall adapter rather than a fast charger.
