Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Sony Ericsson Xperia Z3 — 3.8V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (LIS1558ERPC)
This is a 3.8V, 3100mAh lithium-polymer replacement cell for the Sony Ericsson Xperia Z3, Xperia Z3 Dual, Xperia Z3 LTE, D6653, and over a dozen related variants. It replaces OEM part number LIS1558ERPC directly. Dimensions are 79.05 × 60.26 × 4.26mm — confirm these against your original cell before fitting.
- Xperia Z3 variant compatibility: The Z3, Z3 Dual, and Z3 LTE all share the same battery footprint, connector pinout, and BMS handshake requirements. Each uses LIS1558ERPC because the charge IC expects the same voltage thresholds across the entire D6600-series platform.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through the Z3's charge IC on the bench. The BMS accepted the new cell without error flags, charge current stepped through trickle, CC, and CV phases correctly, and the protection circuit tripped cleanly at the expected cutoff.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: Disable fast charging for the first complete discharge-charge cycle after fitting this cell. The fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve. Running one full slow cycle lets the coulomb counter build an accurate baseline before high-current charging applies.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% after fitting a new cell
This happens because the Z3's fuel gauge IC carries forward calibration data from the old, degraded cell. When the modem fires at full power during a call or data burst, it pulls a current spike the new cell handles easily — but the fuel gauge misreads the resulting voltage dip as a near-empty state and triggers an emergency shutdown. The fix is one full discharge to 0% reported charge, then a full slow charge to 100% without interruption. After that cycle, the coulomb counter resets its endpoints against the actual new cell capacity.
Phone warm near the battery during the first charge after replacement
A new lithium-polymer cell has higher internal impedance than a broken-in cell. The charge IC compensates by maintaining the same target current, which generates more heat across the higher resistance — this is normal for the first one to three charge cycles. Monitor the temperature during the first charge; if the back of the phone becomes hot to the touch rather than warm, pause charging and let it cool before resuming. Internal impedance drops as the cell cycles, and heat during charging should return to normal levels by the third cycle. If warmth persists beyond that, check that the charge IC is not stuck at a higher-than-expected rate — the Z3 should charge at 1.5A maximum under standard conditions.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Xperia Z3 shows a different percentage every time I reboot after swapping the battery — what's happening?
The fuel gauge IC on the Z3 stores a learned discharge curve for the old cell in non-volatile memory. When you fit a new cell, that stored curve no longer matches the actual cell chemistry, so the reported percentage shifts each time the phone re-reads the coulomb counter on boot. Run one complete discharge from 100% to auto-shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100% at standard charge speed — no fast charge. That single full cycle overwrites the old calibration and the percentage readout stabilises.
My Z3 won't power on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for a few months before I installed it — is it dead?
Lithium-polymer cells self-discharge in storage, and if the cell dropped below roughly 2.5V during that time, the BMS has locked out to prevent damage. The phone will not respond to the power button. Connect the Z3 to a wall charger — not a PC port — and leave it for 20 to 30 minutes without pressing anything. The charge IC runs a trickle-charge recovery routine that slowly brings the cell back above the BMS re-enable threshold. Once voltage crosses approximately 2.8V, the BMS unlocks and the phone should show the charging indicator.
Fast charging stopped working on my Z3 after I put in this replacement battery — the phone is only slow-charging now?
The Z3's charge IC uses a handshake with the BMS on the first cycle to validate the new cell before allowing elevated charge current. On the very first charge after a cell swap, the IC defaults to standard charge rate as a precaution — this is normal behaviour, not a fault. Complete one full charge cycle at the standard rate. On the second charge, connect the original Sony wall adapter and fast charging should re-engage. If it still does not, check that the USB port pins are clean and making full contact, as the fast-charge handshake is voltage-signalled over the data pins.
