Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

T-Mobile Tap / Pulse Mini — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (HB5A2H)
This is a 3.7V, 700mAh Li-ion replacement cell for the T-Mobile Tap and Pulse Mini smartphones. It replaces OEM part numbers HB5A2H and BTR7519. The battery restores power to a phone that won't hold a charge or won't turn on due to a degraded original cell.
- Tap and Pulse Mini fitment: Both models share the same battery bay dimensions and connector pinout, so this single cell covers both. The BMS handshake voltage and charge termination threshold match the original charge IC on each board.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the Tap platform. The BMS accepted charge termination at 4.2V and tripped low-voltage cutoff correctly before the cell dropped below safe discharge limits.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: After fitting this cell, run one full discharge to automatic shutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100% before normal use. The phone's coulomb counter is still calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve — skipping this step causes the percentage reading to jump or report incorrect values.
Why the Tap reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap
The Tap uses a fuel gauge IC that builds its capacity model from accumulated charge and discharge data on the original cell. When you install a new cell, that learned curve no longer matches the new cell's actual voltage-to-capacity relationship. The IC keeps using the old model, so it reports percentages that don't reflect real remaining charge. One complete discharge-charge cycle forces the fuel gauge to rebuild its reference against the new cell's actual discharge profile.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% remaining on the replacement cell
This happens when the modem radio or display spikes current draw faster than the cell can sustain voltage at that state of charge. At 20–30% remaining, cell impedance rises — a sudden load pulls terminal voltage below the BMS cutoff threshold before the fuel gauge catches up, and the phone shuts off. It's not a faulty cell; it's the voltage cliff on a small-capacity 700mAh cell under peak modem load. Completing a full recalibration cycle first reduces the frequency of early cutoffs by giving the fuel gauge an accurate low-end voltage reference.

Frequently Asked Questions
The phone powered off and now won't turn on at all after sitting in a drawer — is the new battery dead?
Most likely the cell discharged below the BMS lockout threshold during storage, typically under 2.5V per cell. The protection circuit opens and blocks current flow until the cell is pre-charged. Plug the phone into a wall charger — not a USB port — and leave it for 20 to 30 minutes without pressing the power button. If the BMS recovers, the charging indicator will appear and the phone will boot normally.
The battery percentage jumps from 45% straight to 15% with no warning — what's causing that?
The fuel gauge IC is still using the discharge curve it learned from the original worn cell. That old curve has gaps at mid-range voltages, so the IC skips past states of charge it never properly mapped. Run one full uninterrupted discharge to automatic shutoff followed by a complete charge to 100%. After that single calibration cycle, the coulomb counter rebuilds its model against the new cell and the percentage display stabilises.
The phone gets noticeably warm near the battery area during the first few charges — is that normal?
A new high-impedance cell draws charge current less efficiently on the first few cycles, which generates more heat at the charge IC than a broken-in cell does. Surface warmth during charging is expected for the first two to three cycles. If the phone becomes hot to the touch or charging stops and restarts repeatedly, remove it from the charger and let it cool to room temperature before resuming — then check that the charge IC isn't throttling due to thermal protection by confirming the battery indicator resumes climbing steadily from where it stopped.
