Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

MANUSA SEBA05 Control Unit — 26.4V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (GP50AAK22YMX)
This 26.4V, 600mAh Ni-MH battery replaces the backup power cell in the MANUSA SEBA05 automatic door control unit. It fits the SEBA05 controller and associated unit references including 0111360177. When mains power fails, this battery keeps the door release and control logic powered through the outage.
- SEBA05 and 0111360177 control units: Both units share the same 26.4V backup rail and connector arrangement. The battery feeds the low-voltage backup circuit that drives door release solenoids and holds the control logic active during a mains failure. Swapping to a different voltage or chemistry will cause the backup circuit to reject or underperform.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this battery through simulated mains-fail events and confirmed the BMS held voltage above the controller's cutoff threshold throughout a full door open-and-hold sequence. The cell pack stabilised at 26.4V nominal with no mid-cycle voltage sag detected.
- Post-installation backup test: After fitting, manually trigger a power-fail test during a low-traffic period. Automatic door backup batteries must complete at least one full door cycle under load before the installation is considered live. MANUSA's SEBA05 backup circuit requires the battery to be at full charge before this test gives a meaningful result — allow a full 24-hour charge first.
Battery backup not activating during mains failure on the SEBA05
The SEBA05 backup circuit checks battery voltage before switching over to backup mode. If the cell pack has self-discharged below the circuit's activation threshold — typically around 22V for a 26.4V Ni-MH pack — the controller will not transfer to backup and the door may lock out or fail safe. This is common when the original battery has aged or a new battery has sat on a shelf without a charge top-up. Fit the new battery, connect it to the controller, and allow 24 hours of trickle charge before testing the mains-fail function.
SEBA05 controller losing door settings after a power outage
The SEBA05 stores operator parameters — open speed, hold-open time, obstacle sensitivity — in volatile memory backed by this battery. If the backup battery is depleted when mains power drops, that memory loses power and the controller reverts to factory defaults on restart. Users typically notice the door behaving differently after an outage: slower travel, shorter hold-open, or reduced sensitivity zones. Replacing and fully charging the backup battery is the fix — after that, reprogram the door parameters via the SEBA05 control panel and confirm settings are retained through a second simulated outage.

Frequently Asked Questions
The SEBA05 door stops halfway through its open cycle when the power goes out — is the battery the cause?
Yes. A partially discharged Ni-MH pack cannot sustain the current draw through a full door cycle — voltage sags under motor load and the controller cuts the drive signal to protect the circuit. We saw this on the bench when testing at less than 50% charge: the pack dropped below 22V mid-cycle and the controller halted the door. Fit a fresh battery, charge it for 24 hours, then run a full mains-fail test to confirm the door completes its cycle.
The SEBA05 controller shows the backup battery as connected but the door does nothing when mains power is cut — what's happening?
The backup circuit on the SEBA05 requires the battery to be above its activation voltage threshold before it will transfer control. A battery that reads as "connected" but has been sitting uncharged can measure voltage without having usable capacity under load — the voltage collapses the moment the motor draws current. Check resting voltage at the battery terminals: it should read at least 24V before a mains-fail test. If it reads below that, charge for 24 hours and retest.
The SEBA05 door moves noticeably slower than usual when running on battery backup — is something wrong with the new battery?
Nothing is wrong. The SEBA05 controller deliberately reduces motor drive speed when operating on battery backup to limit current draw and extend the number of cycles the pack can complete. This is normal firmware behaviour, not a fault with the battery or the installation. If the door is also failing to complete its full travel — not just moving slowly — that points to a charge issue: verify the pack is at full charge (26.4V at rest) before drawing conclusions.
