Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

TrueLife NannyCam R7 / VB805PRO — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery

This 3.7V, 3000mAh Li-Polymer battery replaces the internal cell in the TrueLife NannyCam R7 and VB805PRO parent units. Both devices use the same flat Li-Polymer cell at 64.00 × 49.80 × 6.50mm. Swap it in when the parent unit no longer holds charge or shuts off mid-session.

  • NannyCam R7 and VB805PRO compatibility: Both parent units share the same 3.7V power rail, identical cell footprint, and matching connector — the BMS in each device accepts this cell without modification or firmware conflict.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on the NannyCam R7 parent unit. The onboard BMS accepted the cell, balanced charge terminated correctly, and the unit held its wireless link to the camera throughout the test.
  • Re-pair the parent unit after install: Baby monitors lose their stored wireless pairing when the parent unit drops to zero volts. After fitting this battery, power on both units and run the pairing sequence from the parent unit menu before expecting video feed.

Parent unit not connecting to the camera after battery swap

When a Li-Polymer cell fully depletes, the parent unit loses all stored settings — including the camera pairing record. The new battery restores power but cannot restore that pairing data. Go into the parent unit's pairing or channel menu and follow the sync steps while the camera unit is powered on nearby. Most NannyCam R7 units complete re-pairing within 30 seconds at close range.

Night vision cuts out or never activates after replacement

The NannyCam R7's IR LEDs draw a short current spike when switching on in low light. If the new battery is below roughly 3.5V from storage, the voltage sag during that spike can trip the BMS or simply starve the IR circuit. Connect the parent unit to its charger for at least two hours before testing night vision. Once the cell reaches 3.7V resting voltage, the IR LEDs activate cleanly.

Frequently Asked Questions

My NannyCam R7 parent unit battery drains completely overnight even on standby — is the new battery faulty?

The parent unit screen staying on through the night is the most common cause. The NannyCam R7 LCD backlight and radio receiver together draw enough current to exhaust a 3000mAh cell by morning if the screen timeout is disabled. Go into the display settings menu and set the screen to turn off after 30–60 seconds of inactivity. The radio link stays active in the background; only the screen shuts down.

The wireless range dropped significantly after I swapped the battery — was it better before?

The parent unit's radio transmitter output is voltage-sensitive. A cell that has just come out of storage may sit at 3.5V or lower, which reduces effective transmit power and shortens range. Charge the parent unit fully before judging range. Once the cell reaches its rated 3.7V, the radio operates at full power and range returns to normal.

The parent unit shows a charging indicator but the battery percentage won't rise above 1% after fitting the new cell.

This usually means the BMS entered a low-voltage lockout state during shipping — cells stored below 3.0V can trigger a protection circuit that limits charge current to a trickle. Leave the unit on charge without interruption for 90 minutes. The BMS will recover the cell slowly up past 3.0V, then switch to normal charge rate and the percentage will begin climbing.
