Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Opticon H13 / OPH-1003 Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (BTR0100)
This is a 3.7V Li-ion replacement battery rated at 1100mAh (4.07Wh) for the Opticon H13, H-13, OPH-1003, and OPH-1004 handheld barcode scanners. It matches the OEM BTR0100 specification and fits the same battery bay without modification. If your scanner is shutting down mid-shift or won't hold a charge, this pack replaces the original cell.
- H13 and OPH-100x compatibility: These models share the same 3.7V single-cell architecture, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — one battery covers the full group. The cell form factor is identical across H13, H-13, OPH-1003, and OPH-1004 variants.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through repeated scan-burst and wireless polling loads on an H13 unit. The BMS held steady across the discharge curve and did not trip during combined radio and laser inrush events.
- First-shift preparation: After installing, seat the scanner in its cradle for a full charge cycle before use. Scan trigger inrush current peaks when the cell is near minimum — a fully charged cell prevents false BMS trips during the first pick-and-pack shift.
Cradle showing charging error on a new pack
A charging error on a new battery almost always comes down to contact resistance between the battery terminals and the cradle's charge pins, not a fault in the cell itself. Oxidation, dust, or a light film on either surface is enough to confuse the dock's charge detection circuit. Wipe the gold contacts on the battery and the cradle pins with a dry lint-free cloth, then reseat the scanner firmly. If the error clears, run a full charge cycle before deploying the unit.
Scanner not reading barcodes immediately after a battery swap
The H13's laser or imager module requires a stable voltage rail to fire at rated power — if the replacement cell ships partially discharged, the scanner may power on but produce weak or failed reads. This is not a scanner fault; it is the cell voltage sitting below the threshold the scan engine needs for a clean read. Place the scanner in the cradle straight after installing the new pack and charge it to full before your first scan attempt. Once the cell reaches 4.1–4.2V, scan performance returns to spec.

Frequently Asked Questions
My H13 drops its wireless connection every time I do a fast burst of scans — is that the battery?
Yes, this is a combined draw problem. The scan trigger and the wireless radio both pull current at the same moment during a rapid scan burst, and a degraded or low cell voltage sags enough to cause the radio module to drop its connection. This pack is rated at 1100mAh and holds voltage more consistently through those simultaneous load spikes than an aged original cell. Charge the new battery fully before your first shift and the connection drops should stop.
The scanner gets noticeably warm after a couple of hours of continuous scanning — is something wrong?
Warmth during extended use is normal on the H13 — the scanner housing is compact and traps heat from both the scan engine and the wireless radio running continuously. What you should not feel is heat coming from the battery bay itself. If the battery is the warm spot rather than the top of the unit near the imager, pull the pack and check the contacts for corrosion or debris, which increases resistance and generates localised heat. A clean contact surface and a freshly charged cell should bring temperatures back to normal range.
My replacement battery doesn't seem to last as long as the original did when it was new — what's happening?
A new Li-ion cell often needs two or three full charge-discharge cycles before it reaches its rated capacity. If you pulled the scanner off the charger early or ran it down past the BMS cutoff on the first shift, the cell may not have fully conditioned yet. Run two complete cycles — full charge in the cradle, then use until the scanner powers off — and measure endurance after that. If shift endurance is still short, check your scan burst frequency and wireless polling interval, as both draw continuously and are the main factors reducing the 1100mAh rating in real warehouse conditions.
