Fits Unitech PA700, PA720, PA700MCA scanners; replaces OEM part 1400-900023G, S12GT1301A, 1400-900033G, S12GT301A, 1400-900035G.
3.7V 3000mAh Li-Polymer cell delivers full power to laser scanning and wireless transmission without mid-shift voltage sag.
Connector slides straight into scanner battery slot with positive contact alignment; locking tab seats flush with housing edge.
We bench-tested this pack on the PA700 cradle dock — BMS accepted charge handshake on first insertion with no fault codes.
Place the scanner in its cradle for a full charge cycle before using in pick-and-pack operations; scan trigger inrush current is highest when the cell approaches minimum voltage, and a pre-charged cell prevents false BMS trips during rapid barcode burst.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Unitech PA700 / PA720 / PA700MCA — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (1400-900023G)

This is a 3.7V 3000mAh Li-Polymer battery for the Unitech PA700, PA720, and PA700MCA handheld barcode scanners. It replaces OEM part numbers 1400-900023G, 1400-900033G, 1400-900035G, S12GT1301A, and S12GT301A. The pack restores scanning capability on units where the original battery no longer holds a charge through a full warehouse shift.

  • PA700 / PA720 / PA700MCA compatibility: These three models share the same battery bay dimensions, 3.7V supply rail, and BMS handshake protocol — one pack covers all three without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through repeated scan-burst and wireless polling loads. The BMS held voltage within spec during combined radio and imager inrush, and cell balance stayed stable across all test cycles.
  • First-shift preparation: After installing, seat the scanner in its cradle and run a full charge cycle before deploying in pick-and-pack. The scan trigger and wireless radio draw peak current simultaneously at low state-of-charge, and a fully charged cell prevents false BMS trips on the first shift.

Cradle showing a charging error after fitting a new pack

Charging cradles for the PA700 series read pack voltage through spring-loaded dock contacts. If those contacts carry oxidation or debris from the old battery, the cradle may report a fault even though the new pack is fine. Remove the battery, wipe the gold contacts on both the pack and the dock with a dry lint-free cloth, then reseat firmly. The cradle should begin a normal charge cycle within 30 seconds of a clean reseat.

Scanner dropping wireless connection during rapid scan bursts

The PA700's imager and wireless radio fire simultaneously during a fast scan burst — both pulling current at the same moment. If cell voltage sags too far during that combined inrush, the BMS can briefly cut power to the radio, dropping the Wi-Fi or Bluetooth link mid-scan. This is most common when the battery is below 20% charge or when the cell has aged. Start each shift with a full charge and check pack voltage under load — if it drops below 3.4V during a burst, the cell needs replacing.

Frequently Asked Questions

My PA700 scanner stopped reading barcodes right after I swapped the battery — what's wrong?

The imager needs a minimum voltage to fire the laser or illumination array, and a new pack shipped at partial charge may not deliver enough current on the first trigger pull. Seat the scanner in its charging cradle and run a full charge cycle before attempting any scans. Once the pack reaches full charge, the imager will draw cleanly without the BMS throttling output. If the problem persists after a full charge, check that the battery contacts in the bay are free of debris.

The PA700 feels warm after a long scanning shift — is that normal?

Sustained back-to-back scanning combined with continuous wireless polling generates real heat inside the PA700's enclosed housing. The pack itself will reach slightly above ambient temperature under that load, which is within normal operating range for a Li-Polymer cell. If the housing feels hot rather than warm, check that the scanner's wireless polling interval is not set to its shortest setting unnecessarily — reducing polling frequency cuts the combined thermal load. A pack that stays hot at rest after the shift ends should be inspected for cell swelling before reuse.

My PA700 battery drains faster than the old one did at the same scan frequency — what's causing that?

New Li-Polymer cells often show slightly lower usable capacity for the first three to five full charge-discharge cycles before the cell reaches its rated capacity. Run the pack through at least three complete cycles — full charge in the cradle, then normal shift use down to auto-shutdown — before comparing endurance to the old battery. Also confirm the device's wireless radio is not scanning for networks more aggressively than before; a radio firmware reset can inadvertently increase polling frequency after a battery swap. After conditioning cycles, measured capacity should stabilise at or near the rated 3000mAh.
