This 14.8V, 4400mAh (65.12Wh) lithium-ion battery replaces the original cell in the Leo DesigNote A360, DesigNote A360 Plus, and DesigNote M285 notebooks. It matches the original voltage rail and connector spec across the full OEM part range, including 21-91081-00 through 21-92130-30. Install it when the existing cell no longer holds usable charge under normal workloads.
- A360, A360 Plus, and M285 compatibility: All three models run the same 14.8V four-cell Li-ion configuration and share identical connector pinout and BMS handshake protocol — that is why a single part number series covers the entire range.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the DesigNote platform. The BMS negotiated correctly, charge current tapered as expected at capacity, and the protection circuit tripped at the correct low-voltage threshold without false cutoffs.
- Post-install calibration on the DesigNote A360: After fitting this cell, run one full discharge until the notebook hibernates at cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This forces the BIOS battery learn cycle to reset against the new cell's actual capacity and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears after every cell swap.

This is a voltage cliff issue. Under combined CPU and display load, a degraded or freshly fitted uncalibrated cell drops voltage faster than the fuel gauge IC predicts. The BIOS interprets the sudden sag as a hard cutoff threshold reached, even though the reported percentage still looks safe. The fix is one full calibration cycle — discharge to hibernate cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. After two or three of these cycles the fuel gauge IC maps its discharge curve to the new cell and the early shutdowns stop.
BIOS reporting battery health as poor immediately after fitting a new cell
The BIOS reads health data from the battery's EEPROM, which still carries the charge-cycle count and degradation flags written by the old cell. A new physical cell does not automatically reset that stored data. The laptop therefore reports poor health even though the replacement cell is fresh. Run the full discharge-to-hibernate then uninterrupted charge cycle described above — this triggers the BIOS learn cycle and rewrites the EEPROM health registers against the new cell's actual state. After one complete cycle, the health indicator should return to normal.

The DesigNote A360's fuel gauge is jumping around — showing 60%, then 45%, then 70% within minutes. Is that the battery or the laptop?
That is the fuel gauge IC recalibrating itself against a new cell it has never seen before. The IC's discharge model was built around the old cell's behaviour, so readings are erratic until it maps the new chemistry. Run two full discharge-to-hibernate cycles followed by uninterrupted charges to 100%. After the second cycle the gauge typically stabilises to within a few percent of actual.
System information shows this battery as 48Wh, but the spec says 65.12Wh — why is the laptop reading it wrong?
The Wh value shown in system info is pulled from the EEPROM data block on the battery controller, which may carry a rated figure from a different cell variant in the same OEM part family. The actual usable energy in the cell is 65.12Wh as spec'd. This is a data field mismatch, not a capacity fault. The discrepancy does not affect charge behaviour — verify real capacity by completing one full calibration cycle and checking the discharge curve.
New battery installed but the DesigNote A360 will only charge to 80% and then stops — charger light goes green early.
Some Leo DesigNote BIOS versions ship with a charge-limit setting active — it caps charging at 80% to reduce cell stress during long periods on AC power. This is a firmware setting, not a battery fault. Check the power management section of the BIOS setup screen (typically accessed at boot via F2 or Del) for a battery care or charge threshold option and set the upper limit to 100%.
