Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Panasonic HC-V520M / HC-W570 Series — 3.6V Li-ion Replacement Battery (VW-VBT190)
This is a 3.6V, 3000mAh Li-ion replacement for the Panasonic VW-VBT190 battery. It fits the HC-V520M, HC-V110, HC-V130, HC-W570, and over 25 additional Panasonic HD camcorder models. Voltage and capacity match the OEM spec exactly.
- HC-V and HC-W series compatibility: These Panasonic camcorder lines share the same battery bay geometry, 3.6V power rail, and VW-VBT190 BMS handshake. One cell covers the full range without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on the HC-V520M body. The BMS accepted the cell, the battery-remaining indicator tracked correctly through most of the discharge curve, and protection circuits tripped at the expected low-voltage threshold.
- First charge on camcorder bodies: Charge this cell inside the HC-V series body or an OEM VW-VBT190-compatible charger before your first shoot. Some Panasonic camcorder BMS firmware maps the battery-remaining display during that first full cycle — skipping it can cause the indicator to read inaccurately mid-shoot.
Battery percentage jumping or dropping suddenly during HC-V520M recording
Panasonic's battery-remaining indicator maps voltage thresholds against the OEM cell's discharge curve. A new third-party cell has a slightly different curve, especially in the mid-range. During the first few charge cycles, the camera's BMS recalibrates that map — sudden jumps or drops in the indicator are normal at this stage. After two or three full charge-discharge cycles, the reading stabilises. If it still jumps after that, check resting voltage with a meter: a healthy fully charged VW-VBT190-format cell reads 4.18–4.20V.
HC-V520M showing dead battery icon immediately after inserting a new cell
This happens when the BMS has not yet completed an authentication handshake with the new cell. It is not a fault in the cell itself. Remove the battery, wait 10 seconds, reinsert, and power on again. If the icon persists, place the battery in an OEM-compatible charger until the charge LED confirms a full cycle — then reinsert into the camera body. A cell that genuinely won't be accepted will still charge normally outside the body; resting voltage after a full charge should read at least 4.15V at the terminals.

Frequently Asked Questions
My HC-V520M shows a full charge on the new battery but cuts to dead with no warning — what's happening?
This is a voltage threshold mapping issue, not a cell fault. The camera's indicator is calibrated to the OEM discharge curve, and a fresh replacement cell reads slightly differently in the mid-to-low range, causing an abrupt drop at the end rather than a gradual decline. Run two or three full charge-discharge cycles through the camera body or OEM charger and the BMS recalibrates. After conditioning, a fully charged cell should rest at 4.18–4.20V before you shoot.
The battery percentage on my HC-V110 jumps around erratically — is the cell defective?
It is almost certainly not defective. Panasonic camcorder bodies map remaining capacity against voltage steps defined for the original VW-VBT190 cell, and a new third-party cell's discharge curve doesn't align perfectly until the BMS has seen a full cycle. The jumping settles after two or three complete charge-discharge cycles done inside the camera body or OEM charger. If it still reads erratically after that, measure terminal voltage at full charge — it should be 4.15V or above.
My HC-W570 runs noticeably shorter on continuous video than on single clips — why does the battery drain faster?
Sustained video recording combines active sensor readout, optical image stabilisation, autofocus, and heat management simultaneously — that combined draw is significantly higher than short-clip use. The VW-VBT190 spec is rated under standard conditions, not continuous full-load recording. Keep the LCD brightness at minimum and disable Wi-Fi twin-camera features when not needed — both reduce draw. If drain is still excessive, check that resting voltage after a full charge is at least 4.15V; a cell that charges to less than that has a capacity problem.
