Fits Mitel 5610 cordless phone handset; replaces OEM part 51015404.
3.7V 1200mAh lithium-ion cell restores full talk time and standby hold on aged handsets.
Connector slides straight into handset battery slot with positive contact forward and locking tab seated.
Bench test showed clean voltage ramp on first insertion; BMS accepted handset pairing without reset cycle.
After installing, place handset in base for a full 16-hour charge before normal use — li-ion cells in DECT handsets need slow initial charge to stabilize the fuel gauge circuit.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Mitel 5610 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (51015404)

This 3.7V 1200mAh Li-ion battery replaces the OEM pack in the Mitel 5610 cordless handset. It fits the 5610 DECT phone used in enterprise phone systems. Voltage and cell chemistry match the original specification exactly.

  • Mitel 5610 fitment: The 5610 handset uses a slim single-cell Li-ion pack at 3.7V nominal. This battery matches that voltage rail, connector pinout, and physical footprint — 53.20 × 34.00 × 5.70mm — so it seats correctly without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this battery through charge and discharge on the 5610 platform. The BMS responded correctly to the base station charge signal, accepted a full charge without fault, and held voltage within spec across the discharge curve.
  • First charge on the Mitel 5610 base: After installing this battery, seat the handset in the 5610 base station and leave it for a full 16 hours before first use. Li-ion cells shipped from storage may sit at a reduced state of charge, and a complete first cycle brings the pack to rated capacity.

Talk time shorter than original battery after replacement

A freshly installed Li-ion pack often delivers noticeably less talk time on the first few cycles. This happens because the cells leave storage at a partial charge state and the BMS has not yet calibrated its capacity tracking to the new pack. Run two to three full charge and discharge cycles through the 5610 base before judging capacity. After conditioning, the pack should reach its rated 1200mAh and match or exceed the worn original.

Mitel 5610 base station shows no charge light after battery swap

If the base station shows no charge indicator after installing a replacement pack, the battery voltage has likely dropped below the threshold the charger circuit expects before initiating a charge cycle. Remove the handset, wait 10 seconds, and reseat it firmly — the charge contacts on the 5610 handset base are spring-loaded and a poor connection will prevent the charge circuit from activating. If the issue persists, check the battery terminal voltage directly; it should read above 3.0V for the base to accept it. A pack reading below 3.0V may need a brief external top-up to cross the acceptance threshold.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Mitel 5610 handset drains completely overnight even when it's sitting in the base — is this the battery?

A fully seated 5610 handset should draw minimal standby current from the base, not from the battery. If the battery is draining overnight, the handset is not making reliable contact with the base charge terminals. Check that the handset clicks into the base correctly and that the gold charge contacts on both the handset and base are clean and free of dust or oxidation. Wipe both contact points with a dry cloth and reseat the handset — standby drain should stop within one charge cycle.

The Mitel 5610 handset is losing range after I swapped the battery — worked fine before.

Range drop after a battery swap points to voltage sag under RF transmit load. The 5610's DECT radio draws a spike of current during transmission, and a new Li-ion pack at a low state of charge will sag in voltage during that spike, causing the radio to reduce transmit power. This is not a fault — it corrects itself after the pack reaches a full charge state. Charge the handset for a full 16 hours in the base, then test range again; the sag disappears once the cell is properly conditioned.

The Mitel 5610 handset stopped pairing with the base after I replaced the battery — how do I fix it?

Some DECT handsets lose their pairing data when power is fully interrupted, which happens during a battery swap. The 5610 stores pairing credentials in the handset, and a complete power loss can reset that registration. Re-register the handset to the base using the standard Mitel 5610 pairing procedure: hold the handset's subscription button until the base LED flashes, then confirm on the handset. The handset should reconnect within 30 seconds.
