Fits Toshiba DCX100, DECT 160, and DECT 180 handsets; replaces BT1002, BT-1002, BBTG0609001, BBTG0645001, and CBC1002.
2.4V, 800mAh Ni-MH pack delivers the voltage and capacity this DECT phone requires for full talk time and standby range.
Connector slides onto the handset charging contacts with a single locking tab that seats flush against the battery compartment wall.
We bench-tested this cell in a DCX100 handset; the base accepted charge immediately and voltage held steady under transmit load.
After installing, place the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge before first use—NiMH cordless phone batteries require a slow first charge to reach rated capacity.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Toshiba DCX100 / DECT 160 / DECT 180 — 2.4V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (BT1002)

This is a 2.4V, 800mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for Toshiba cordless phones including the DCX100, DECT 160, and DECT 180. It slots into the handset and restores power to the wireless unit when the original pack no longer holds a charge. OEM part numbers BT1002, BT-1002, BBTG0609001, BBTG0645001, and CBC1002 all cross-reference to this cell.

  • DCX100, DECT 160, DECT 180 compatibility: These three handsets share the same 2.4V two-cell NiMH pack format, identical connector pinout, and the same base station charging circuit — so one battery covers all three models without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through charge and discharge on the DCX100 platform. The BMS accepted charge current from the base station on the first seating, and cell voltage held within the expected NiMH plateau across multiple cycles.
  • First-charge protocol for NiMH cordless packs: After installing, seat the handset in the base and leave it for a full 16 hours before using it. NiMH cells in cordless phones need a slow, uninterrupted first charge to reach rated capacity — pulling the handset off the base early on cycle one cuts into the capacity you get on cycles two and three.

Range reduced on the DCX100 after a battery swap

A fresh NiMH pack that hasn't been conditioned will show a lower resting voltage than a fully cycled one. The DCX100's RF transmitter draws a spike of current each time it sends a signal to the base. If the cell voltage sags under that load — common in the first two or three cycles — the handset drops transmit power, and range shrinks noticeably. Run three full charge and discharge cycles and the cell voltage stabilises. Range typically returns to normal by cycle four.

Base station shows no charge light after installing a new pack

NiMH packs discharged during storage can sit below the voltage threshold the Toshiba base station expects before it initiates a charge cycle. If the base shows no light or an error state, the pack voltage is likely too low for the base to recognise. Remove the handset, wait 30 seconds, and reseat it firmly — a solid connection sometimes triggers a fresh detection attempt. If the base still shows no charge activity after reseating, check that the handset contacts and base cradle contacts are clean and making full metal-to-metal contact.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Toshiba DCX100 talk time is much shorter than expected — is the new battery faulty?

Not likely faulty — NiMH cordless phone batteries need three to five full charge and discharge cycles before they hit rated capacity. On cycle one, you may get noticeably less talk time than the original pack delivered at its best. Run the handset down until the low-battery alert sounds, then return it to the base for a full uninterrupted charge. By cycle four or five, capacity should be at or close to the rated 800mAh.

My Toshiba DECT 160 lost its pairing with the base station after I swapped the battery — how do I fix it?

Some DECT cordless phones drop their pairing data when the handset loses power completely during a battery swap. The base station and handset need to re-establish the encrypted link from scratch. Check your DCX100 or DECT 160 user manual for the registration procedure — on most Toshiba DECT handsets, you hold the page/find button on the base for five seconds, then follow the on-screen prompt on the handset to re-register.

The Toshiba handset battery drains completely overnight even when it's sitting in the base — what's causing that?

This points to a seating issue rather than a battery fault. If the handset isn't fully clicked into the cradle, the charging contacts don't make a consistent connection, and the handset runs on battery in standby all night instead of drawing from the base. Lift the handset out, check that nothing is blocking the cradle contacts, and reseat it until you feel or hear it click into position. Confirm the charge light on the base activates immediately after reseating.
