Fits Aastra DT690, DT692, and DH4-BAAA/2B handsets; replaces OEM part 660190/1A.
This 3.7V lithium-ion cell delivers 900mAh capacity for full talk and standby cycles.
Connector slides onto the vertical contact pins; locking tab seats flush against the battery door.
We cycled this pack through five discharge loops on a calibrated tester; BMS reported stable voltage throughout.
After installing, place the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge before first use — lithium cordless batteries need slow initial charging to reach rated capacity on this platform.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Aastra DT690 / DT692 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (660190/1A)

This is a 3.7V, 900mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the Aastra DT690 and DT692 DECT cordless handsets, and the DH4-BAAA/2B. It matches OEM part number 660190/1A and fits directly into the battery compartment of those handsets. If your DT690 is dropping calls due to low power or refusing to hold charge, this battery addresses the cause directly.

  • DT690, DT692, and DH4-BAAA/2B compatibility: These three models share the same battery bay dimensions (51.75 × 35.90 × 7.26mm), the same 3.7V supply rail, and the same OEM part number. One battery fits all three without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on a DT690 handset. The BMS accepted charge from the base station without triggering an error state, and voltage held stable under both active call load and standby draw.
  • First charge on a DECT handset base: After fitting, seat the handset in its base and leave it for a full 16 hours before using it. Li-ion cells shipped in partial-charge storage states need a complete first charge to let the BMS calibrate the usable capacity range accurately.

Talk time shorter than the original battery after replacement

A new Li-ion cell calibrates its capacity window over the first few charge cycles. The BMS starts with a conservative estimate of usable charge and expands it as it learns the actual cell behaviour. On the DT690, this means the first two or three charges may feel noticeably shorter than expected. Complete full charge cycles — don't top up mid-day — and capacity will reach its rated 900mAh within three to five cycles.

Base station charge indicator not responding after battery swap

If the base shows no charge light after fitting a new battery, the cell voltage may be below the base station's acceptance threshold after shipping. Aastra base stations check for a minimum voltage before initiating the charge cycle. Connect the handset to the base and wait up to 10 minutes — a deeply discharged cell will trickle-charge up to the acceptance threshold before the indicator activates. If the light still doesn't come on, check that the handset contacts are clean and the handset is fully seated.

Frequently Asked Questions

My DT690 loses DECT range after fitting the new battery — it drops out further from the base than the old one did. What's happening?

Range drops when transmit power sags under RF load. On the DT690, the handset boosts power briefly during transmission, which pulls higher current from the battery. A cell that hasn't completed a full first charge cycle can't sustain that current draw cleanly, causing voltage sag and reduced RF output. Fit the battery, complete a full 16-hour charge in the base, and run two or three complete charge cycles before judging range — the cell needs those cycles to deliver its rated current capacity.

My DT690 handset lost its pairing to the base after I swapped the battery. How do I get it back?

Removing a DECT handset battery cuts all power to the handset, and some DECT implementations clear the pairing data from volatile memory when power drops completely. This is a handset firmware behaviour, not a battery fault. Re-register the handset through the base station menu — on most Aastra DECT systems, navigate to the base settings and select "Register Handset," then follow the on-screen prompt on the handset within 60 seconds.

The DT690 battery drains completely overnight even though the handset is sitting in the base. Is the battery faulty?

A full overnight drain usually means the handset isn't making proper contact with the base charging pins. The DT690 base charges through spring contacts on the handset base, and even a slight misalignment stops the charge current entirely — the handset runs on battery through the night. Remove the handset, wipe the charging contacts on both the handset and base with a dry cloth, reseat the handset firmly, and confirm the charge indicator activates within 30 seconds.
