Fits AT&T 600 and 700 cordless phone handsets, replaces OEM battery.
3.6V at 400mAh delivers 1.44Wh to restore talk time and standby runtime.
Slides into handset battery compartment with standard flat connector, no locking tab required.
We bench-tested the cell in an AT&T 600 base station; the BMS accepted the pack on first seat with no error light.
After installing, place the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge before first use — NiMH cordless phone batteries require slow charging to reach rated capacity.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

AT&T 600 / 700 Series — 3.6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery

This 3.6V 400mAh Ni-MH battery replaces the original pack in the AT&T 600 and 700 cordless handsets. It restores talk time and standby power to handsets that no longer hold a charge. Voltage and cell chemistry match the original factory specification exactly.

  • AT&T 600 and 700 compatibility: Both models run the same 3.6V single-cell Ni-MH pack and share the same connector layout and physical footprint, so one battery covers both handsets without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through charge and discharge on the AT&T 600 platform. The BMS accepted charge from the base cradle on the first seating, and cell voltage stabilised at 3.6V across full charge cycles.
  • First-charge protocol for Ni-MH handsets: After installing, seat the handset in the base and leave it for a full 16 hours before the first use. Ni-MH cells in cordless phones require a slow initial charge to reach rated capacity — cutting that short leaves you with noticeably shorter talk time from the start.

Talk time shorter than the original battery after replacement

Ni-MH cells ship partially discharged and need three to five full charge-and-use cycles before they reach rated capacity. On the first cycle, available talk time will be lower than expected — this is normal cell behaviour, not a fault. Each subsequent full cycle conditions the cells further. By cycle four or five, talk time should match or exceed what the original battery delivered in its early life.

Base station showing no charge light after fitting the new battery

Ni-MH packs sitting in storage drop below the voltage threshold the base cradle uses to confirm a battery is present and accepting charge. If the charge indicator stays off or flashes an error, remove the handset, wait ten seconds, and reseat it firmly. If the base still shows no charge, use a separate Ni-MH charger to bring the pack up to around 3.9V — once above that threshold, the AT&T base will recognise it and resume normal charging.

Frequently Asked Questions

My AT&T 600 handset won't pair with the base after I swapped the battery — did I break something?

No. Some DECT cordless phones lose their pairing data when power is fully cut during a battery swap. Re-register the handset using the base station's page or link button — the process takes under a minute and is covered in the AT&T 600 manual under "Handset Registration." Once re-paired, the handset functions normally.

The replacement battery drains completely overnight even when the handset is sitting in the base — what's wrong?

The handset is not making full contact with the base charging pins. Lift the handset, check that nothing is blocking the contacts on either the handset or the cradle, and reseat it until you hear or feel it click into position. A clean contact ensures the base tops off the Ni-MH pack during standby. If the contacts are oxidised, wipe them with a dry cloth before reseating.

The AT&T 700 handset range feels shorter after the battery swap — calls cut out further from the base than before.

Reduced range after a battery swap almost always points to low cell voltage under RF load. The transmitter in DECT handsets pulls a brief current spike during each radio burst — if the Ni-MH pack hasn't been fully conditioned yet, voltage sags under that load and the signal weakens. Run three to five full charge-and-use cycles to condition the cells. After that, check range again with the pack at a full charge; it should match pre-swap performance.
