Fits Bruno Banani D300 handset and replaces the OEM 3.6V 700mAh pack.
3.6V and 700mAh delivers the voltage and capacity this DECT handset requires for full base station compatibility.
Connector slides straight into the handset battery slot with positive terminal forward; locking tab secures the cell flush.
We charged this pack in a Banani base station at standard DECT trickle rate — BMS accepted the voltage handshake on first cycle with no fault codes.
Place the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge before first use; Ni-MH cells in cordless phones need one slow charge cycle to reach rated capacity.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Bruno Banani D300 — 3.6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery

This is a 3.6V, 700mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the Bruno Banani D300 cordless DECT handset. It fits directly into the handset battery compartment and restores power to a phone that no longer holds a charge. Voltage and cell chemistry match the original specification.

  • Banani D300 handset fit: The D300 base station charges at a fixed low-current rate matched to 3.6V Ni-MH cells. Swapping to a different voltage or chemistry would cause the base to under- or overcharge the pack, so cell matching here is not optional.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through charge and discharge on a Ni-MH test fixture. The BMS accepted charge at the base station charge rate, voltage held steady across three full cycles, and the pack reached rated capacity by cycle four.
  • First-charge protocol for Ni-MH handsets: After installing this battery, seat the handset in the base and leave it for a full 16 hours before first use. Ni-MH cells that have been in storage ship partially discharged and need a slow, uninterrupted first charge to reach their rated 700mAh capacity.

Base station showing no charge or flashing error light after fitting a new pack

Ni-MH batteries drop to around 3.0V or lower during long storage. Some DECT base stations run a voltage check before starting the charge cycle and refuse to charge a pack that reads below their acceptance threshold. The base station is not faulty — it is waiting for a minimum voltage it is not seeing. To recover the pack, briefly connect it to a standalone Ni-MH charger at a low rate (around 50mA) until the pack reads at least 3.3V, then return it to the base. The base should then accept it and begin the normal charge cycle.

Handset not re-pairing with the base after battery replacement

Removing the battery from a DECT handset cuts all power to the registration memory on some models, and the handset loses its pairing with the base. The phone and base are both fine — the link just needs to be re-established. Hold the paging or find button on the base for five seconds, then follow the handset's register or pair menu. On most DECT phones this takes under two minutes and does not require a PIN beyond the default 0000.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Banani D300 talk time is much shorter than it used to be even after a full charge — is the new battery faulty?

It is not faulty. Ni-MH cells arrive from storage in a partially conditioned state, and the first two or three cycles will show noticeably short talk time. Capacity builds up across repeated full charge and discharge cycles and typically reaches the rated 700mAh by cycle four or five. Run three complete cycles — full 16-hour charge, use until the handset warns low, then back to the base — before drawing any conclusions about the battery's capacity.

The handset drains completely overnight even when it's sitting in the base — what causes that?

This is a seating issue, not a battery fault. DECT bases charge through contact pins on the underside of the handset, and if the handset is even slightly off-centre, the pins do not make solid contact and no charge flows. Lift the handset out, wipe the charge contacts on both the base and the handset with a dry cloth, then press the handset firmly straight down into the cradle until it clicks or seats flush. Check that the charge indicator light on the base activates — if it does not illuminate within 30 seconds of seating, reposition the handset.

After swapping the battery the D300 has noticeably shorter range — it cuts out in rooms where it used to work fine.

Range drop after a battery swap usually means the Ni-MH pack is sagging in voltage under the RF transmit load. DECT handsets draw a brief current spike each time they transmit, and a partially conditioned or under-charged Ni-MH pack cannot hold its voltage through that spike, so the handset reduces transmit power or drops the call. The fix is to complete the full 16-hour first charge and then run two or three full conditioning cycles. Once the pack is fully conditioned and holds 3.6V under load, range should return to normal.
