Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Mobilteil IP65 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (5010808000)

This 3.7V, 700mAh lithium-ion battery replaces the original pack in the Mobilteil IP65 cordless handset. It fits directly into the IP65 handset and restores power to calls and standby operation. OEM part numbers covered: 5010808000 and 5010808030.

  • IP65 handset fit: The IP65 uses a single-cell Li-ion pack running a 3.7V nominal rail. Both OEM part numbers (5010808000 and 5010808030) share the same cell footprint, connector pinout, and BMS communication protocol — this replacement covers both revisions.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the IP65 handset. The BMS accepted charge current from the base station without triggering a protection cutoff, and the handset reported battery status correctly throughout the test.
  • First charge on the IP65: After fitting this battery, seat the handset in the base cradle and leave it for a full uninterrupted charge before taking any calls. Li-ion cells shipped in partial-charge storage states need one complete charge cycle to let the BMS calibrate its capacity tracking correctly.

Talk time shorter than expected after fitting the new battery

A fresh Li-ion cell arrives from storage at reduced state of charge, and the BMS capacity register is not yet calibrated to the new cell. Until the BMS has completed one full charge-to-discharge cycle, the handset's fuel gauge will under-report available capacity. Run one complete cycle — full charge from base, then use the handset until the low-battery indicator appears — and the reported and actual capacity will align. Rated capacity is 700mAh at 3.7V nominal.

Handset not pairing with base station after battery replacement

Removing the battery from a DECT handset cuts all power to the DECT module, which can wipe the pairing registration stored in volatile memory. The base station and handset then no longer recognise each other on the next power-up. To fix this, re-register the handset manually using the pairing or registration button on the base station — the procedure is in your IP65 user manual. Once re-registered, the handset resumes normal DECT operation on the correct channel.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Mobilteil IP65 shows a charging error light on the base after I put the new battery in — what's wrong?

A Li-ion cell shipped from storage can sit below the base station's charge-acceptance threshold voltage. The base interprets this low incoming voltage as a fault and trips the error indicator rather than starting a charge cycle. Place the handset firmly in the cradle and leave it undisturbed for 15–20 minutes — most base stations will retry the charge once the cell absorbs a trickle current and climbs above the acceptance threshold, typically around 3.0V. If the light clears and charging begins, no further action is needed.

The IP65 handset drains completely overnight even when it's sitting in the base — is the battery faulty?

This is almost always a seating issue, not a cell fault. If the handset is not fully clicked into the base cradle, the charging contacts do not make a solid connection and the cell discharges through normal standby draw rather than topping up. Remove the handset, check the base contacts and handset contacts for dust or debris, then re-seat the handset until you hear or feel it click into position. If the base charge indicator then lights up, the cell is charging correctly.

The IP65 loses signal range near the edge of the house — could the new battery be causing this?

Yes, this can happen. The IP65 DECT transmitter draws a short burst of higher current each time it communicates with the base. If the battery's cell voltage sags under that RF transmit load, the DECT module drops its transmit power to protect itself, and effective range shrinks. Run one full charge-discharge cycle to let the BMS calibrate accurately, then recheck range with the cell at a full 4.2V charge. If sag persists, the handset contacts may need cleaning to reduce contact resistance.
