Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Glutz ES1 / 271964 — 3V Li-MnO2 Replacement Battery (CR-23ZCF2CN)
This is a 3V lithium manganese dioxide cell rated at 2700mAh (8.1Wh), direct fit for the Glutz 271964 and ES1 electronic door lock. It powers the lock's keyless entry mechanism, control board, and motor driver. The CR-23ZCF2CN form factor — 35.00 × 33.60 × 17.00mm — matches the original cell physically and electrically.
- ES1 and 271964 fit: Both models share the same battery bay, voltage rail, and BMS handshake. The CR-23ZCF2CN cell meets the 3V nominal requirement and 8.1Wh energy spec the lock's control board expects at startup.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell under simulated lock actuation loads. The BMS held stable output through repeated motor-start draws, and the cell voltage held above 2.8V through full discharge depth.
- Post-swap access method check: After fitting this cell, test every access method — keypad, Bluetooth, and any keycard — before closing the door. Some Glutz ES1 units run a firmware handshake on first power-up after interruption. If that sequence is skipped, one or more access methods may not respond until the lock completes it.
Why the Glutz ES1 shows low battery immediately after a new cell is fitted
The ES1 control board reads cell voltage at startup and compares it against a threshold — typically around 2.7V. Li-MnO2 cells stored below 10°C can read lower than their actual charge state at initial load due to temporary internal resistance. If the cell has been in cold storage, let it reach room temperature before fitting it. After fitting, actuate the lock two or three times to allow the voltage reading to stabilise before trusting the battery indicator.
Bluetooth not reconnecting to the Glutz app after battery replacement
A full power interruption resets the lock's Bluetooth radio state on some ES1 firmware versions. The lock stops advertising to the app until it completes its internal boot sequence — this can take up to 30 seconds after the cell is seated. If the app still shows the lock as offline after that window, open the Glutz app, navigate to the device list, and force a re-scan. On older firmware, a manual re-pair from the app's device settings may be required before Bluetooth control resumes.

Frequently Asked Questions
The lock motor is moving slowly and the bolt isn't fully throwing after I put in a new battery — what's wrong?
Li-MnO2 cells that have sat in storage for an extended period can deliver reduced current on their first few actuations due to passivation — a thin layer that forms on the anode at rest. This creates a temporary voltage sag under the motor-start load, which makes the bolt feel sluggish or incomplete. Actuate the lock five to ten times in quick succession to break through the passivation layer. If the bolt throws fully after that, the cell is fine — no replacement needed.
My Glutz 271964 isn't responding to the keypad at all after swapping the battery — keypad lights won't even come on.
This is almost always a power interruption reset rather than a faulty cell. Remove the CR-23ZCF2CN cell, wait 10 seconds, and reinsert it firmly — the cell contact must be fully seated for the control board to boot. If the keypad still won't wake, check cell polarity against the markings in the battery bay, then verify the cell reads at or above 3V with a multimeter before reinserting.
The lock keeps beeping and showing a low battery warning even though the CR-23ZCF2CN cell is brand new — is this a lock fault?
Not usually. The most common cause is polarity — the CR-23ZCF2CN is a flat-terminal cell and it's easy to seat it slightly off-axis, which gives the board an intermittent or low reading. Remove the cell, check the orientation markings, reseat it with firm pressure, and actuate the lock once. If the warning clears, the contact was the issue. If it persists with the cell reading 3V on a multimeter, check whether the lock's firmware requires a reset after extended power loss — on some ES1 units, holding the reset button for 5 seconds clears a latched low-battery flag.
