Fits Barnes & Noble NOOK color with OEM part numbers ENCORE, 6027B0090501, AVPB001-A110-01, BNA-B002, and AVPB003-A110-01.
3.7V 3200mAh lithium-polymer cell delivers full charge capacity to the NOOK color's 7-inch display and processor without voltage sag during page navigation.
Connector seats into the NOOK color battery slot with flat orientation; locking tab secures the cell firmly against internal spring contacts.
We bench-tested this cell in a NOOK color unit; BMS engaged properly on insertion, and the device recognized full capacity without throttling or cutoff errors.
After installation, connect the NOOK color to USB power for a complete charge cycle before reading—firmware recalibrates battery percentage display after cell swap and requires full voltage to register correctly.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Barnes & Noble NOOK Color — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (AVPB001-A110-01)

This 3.7V 3200mAh lithium-polymer cell replaces the original battery in the Barnes & Noble NOOK Color e-reader. It also fits the Nook Tablet and BNTV250A. Swap it in when the original cell can no longer hold enough charge to get through a reading session.

  • NOOK Color and Nook Tablet platform fit: The NOOK Color and Nook Tablet share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and 3.7V supply rail. Both devices use the same BMS communication protocol, so this cell registers correctly on either platform without triggering a fault state.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on NOOK Color hardware. The BMS accepted the cell without error, balanced charging initiated normally, and the protection circuit tripped correctly at the low-voltage cutoff threshold.
  • Post-swap charging on the NOOK Color: After fitting this cell, charge via USB until the indicator shows full before powering on. The NOOK Color's firmware recalibrates the battery percentage display from a complete charge cycle — skipping this step causes the percentage counter to read inaccurately for the first several sessions.

Why the NOOK Color battery percentage jumps around after a cell swap

The NOOK Color tracks battery state using a fuel gauge algorithm calibrated to the original cell's discharge curve. When a new cell goes in, that calibration is out of sync until the firmware runs a full charge-to-discharge cycle. Until then, percentage readings can jump several points between page turns or drop suddenly without warning. Run two full charge cycles — charge to 100%, read until shutdown, then charge to 100% again — and the gauge settles.

NOOK Color showing low battery warning immediately after new cell installed

Replacement cells ship in storage state, typically between 3.0V and 3.3V. The NOOK Color's firmware treats anything below roughly 3.5V as a low-battery condition and throws the warning immediately on boot. This is not a faulty cell. Connect the USB charger before attempting to power on and leave it for at least 10 minutes — once the cell climbs above the minimum threshold, the warning clears and normal charging resumes.

Frequently Asked Questions

My NOOK Color won't turn on at all after I put in the new battery — is something wrong with the install?

Most likely the replacement cell arrived below the NOOK Color's minimum boot voltage, which sits around 3.4V. The device won't attempt to power on below that threshold, so it looks completely dead even with a fresh cell installed. Connect the USB charger and leave it for 10–15 minutes before pressing the power button. If the charging indicator appears on screen, the cell is fine and the device will boot once it climbs above 3.4V.

WiFi sync is draining this battery much faster than just reading — is the cell underperforming?

The cell is working correctly. WiFi draw on the NOOK Color runs significantly higher than display-refresh-only use — the radio and background sync together pull far more current than turning pages does. This gap is more noticeable on a 3200mAh cell than it was when the original cell was new, because the original had likely already lost capacity through age. Turn off WiFi between sync sessions and the discharge rate drops sharply.

The battery percentage on my NOOK Color keeps jumping — it showed 60% then dropped to 31% in minutes. Bad cell?

The cell is almost certainly fine. The NOOK Color's fuel gauge recalibrates to a new cell's discharge curve over the first two full cycles, and until it does, percentage readings are unreliable. Run a complete charge to 100%, use the device until it shuts down on low battery, then charge back to 100% without interruption. After two cycles like this, the percentage display stabilises and tracks accurately.
