Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Bra Easy Motion Rebel Jet — 36V Li-ion Replacement Battery
This is a 36V, 13000mAh (468Wh) Li-ion battery for the Bra Easy Motion Rebel Jet electric bicycle. It slots into the Rebel Jet's battery mount and connects to the motor controller via the stock BMS communication line. When the original pack loses capacity or stops holding charge, this unit restores the assisted pedal function.
- Motion Rebel Jet platform fit: The Rebel Jet runs a 36V motor rail with a BMS handshake between the battery and the controller. This pack matches that voltage rail and connector configuration, so the controller recognises the battery on power-up without fault codes.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through full charge and discharge passes, monitoring cell balancing across groups and BMS cutoff response under simulated hill-climb current draw. All protection circuits — over-current, over-temperature, and low-voltage cutoff — triggered at expected thresholds.
- First-ride charge protocol for the Rebel Jet: After winter storage or long shelf time, charge this pack at low current before the first ride. Cold Li-ion cells carry higher internal resistance, and pushing full charge current below 10°C causes lithium plating on the anode that cuts usable cycle life permanently.
Motor cutting out mid-hill on the Rebel Jet with a new battery
A sustained climb draws continuous high current from the pack, and if the cells are cold or the battery is new and unbalanced, voltage can sag below the BMS low-voltage trip threshold mid-ride. The controller interprets this as a depleted or faulty pack and cuts motor assist. This is not a faulty battery — it is the BMS protecting the cells from over-discharge under peak load. Warm the battery to above 15°C before a climbing ride and run two or three full charge-discharge cycles to allow cell groups to balance.
Charger refuses to start on the Rebel Jet pack after storage
Most 36V Li-ion chargers have a minimum acceptance voltage — typically around 30V. If the pack has self-discharged below that threshold during storage, the charger detects an out-of-range voltage and refuses to begin the charge cycle. Connect the charger and leave it plugged in for 30 minutes without expecting a status light change immediately — some chargers apply a recovery trickle current first. Once the pack climbs back above the acceptance floor, the charger switches to its normal CC-CV profile and the charge light activates.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Rebel Jet motor cuts out on steep hills even with a full battery — what's happening?
This is a BMS over-current trip, not a capacity issue. Sustained climbing pulls peak amps from the pack, and if the cells are cold or unevenly balanced, internal resistance spikes and voltage sags below the controller's cutoff point. The motor drops out to protect the cells. Warm the battery above 15°C before rides with heavy elevation gain and complete three full charge-discharge cycles to let the cell groups balance.
My Rebel Jet shows almost no motor assist in cold weather even though the battery was fully charged the night before.
Li-ion cells lose 15–25% of usable capacity below 5°C because cold slows the electrochemical reaction and raises internal resistance. The battery management system reads the reduced cell voltage as a lower state of charge and limits output current to the motor. Store the battery indoors overnight and mount it on the bike just before riding — even 10 minutes at room temperature before the ride recovers a significant portion of that capacity.
The motor on my Rebel Jet stutters and hesitates when I'm heavy on the throttle going uphill, but runs smoothly on flat ground — is this a battery fault?
This is voltage sag under peak motor-start current, not a defective cell. On a flat surface the motor draws moderate steady current; on an incline with a heavy load, the instantaneous current spike causes pack voltage to dip, and the controller briefly reduces power output to compensate. Check that the battery terminals and connector are clean and seated fully — a partial connection adds resistance and makes sag worse. If the issue persists after cleaning the connector, run a full discharge-charge cycle to allow the BMS to recalibrate the state-of-charge estimate.
