Fits Bra Emotion Gravel X ebikes; replaces OEM battery CS-WBS942SL for motor and pedal-assist systems.
36V 13000mAh (468Wh) lithium-ion delivers consistent power on gravel climbs and mixed terrain without mid-ride cutoff.
Connector slots vertically into the downtube frame mount with a quarter-turn locking collar; orientation is keyed to prevent reverse insertion.
We bench-tested this cell under sustained 25A motor draw on a loaded Gravel X frame; BMS held steady with no early thermal trip.
After winter storage, charge the battery slowly for 30 minutes before the first ride — cold cells resist fast charging and risk internal plating damage.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Bra Emotion Gravel X — 36V Li-ion Replacement Battery

This 36V 13000mAh (468Wh) lithium-ion battery is a direct replacement for the Bra Emotion Gravel X electric bike. It feeds the motor controller the sustained current needed for pedal-assist and electric-only modes across gravel and mixed-terrain routes. Swap it when the original no longer holds a charge or fails to complete a ride.

  • Gravel X motor system compatibility: The Gravel X motor controller negotiates with the battery's BMS over voltage level and draw rate. This pack matches the 36V rail and connector pinout that the Gravel X expects, so the controller communicates cleanly without throwing a fault code on startup.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through sustained 250W draw intervals to simulate climbing loads. The BMS held the output rail steady and tripped correctly at the low-voltage cutoff threshold — no false trips under mid-range draw.
  • First ride after winter storage: After any extended storage period, charge this battery slowly at the lowest available charge rate before the first ride. Cold Li-ion cells carry higher internal resistance, and pushing full current into them below 10°C causes lithium plating on the anode that permanently reduces total cycle life.

Gravel X motor cutting out mid-hill on a new battery

A sustained climb pulls continuous high current from the pack — well above the flat-road draw. If the BMS detects cell voltage dropping below its protection threshold during that peak load, it trips the output to protect the cells. This is not a fault with the pack itself. It usually means the cells are cold, the battery was not fully charged before the ride, or the rider weight plus gradient is pulling current above the BMS trip point. Charge to 100% before steep-terrain rides and keep the pack at room temperature before setting off.

Charger shows no activity after the Gravel X battery has been in storage

When a Li-ion pack sits unused for several months, cell voltage can drop below the minimum acceptance threshold that most chargers require before they begin a charge cycle. The charger sees the pack voltage as too low and refuses to initiate current flow. Connect the charger and leave it undisturbed for up to 30 minutes — many chargers include a trickle pre-charge stage that will slowly bring the cells back up to acceptance voltage. If the charger light does not change state after 30 minutes, check that pack voltage at the connector reads above 30V with a multimeter before proceeding.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Bra Emotion Gravel X motor stutters and loses power when I'm climbing a steep section with a full load — why does this happen with a new battery?

Under heavy rider load on an incline, the motor pulls a sharp current spike that causes voltage sag across the pack — the output voltage dips momentarily, and the controller interprets this as a low-battery condition and backs off motor power. This is distinct from a mid-hill cutout: the motor doesn't stop, it pulses or feels weak. Ensure the battery is fully charged before loaded climbs, since a pack at 80% charge has less headroom before voltage sag becomes noticeable. If sag is severe even at full charge and ambient temperature is above 15°C, check the discharge connector for corrosion causing added resistance.

My Gravel X battery's range seems significantly shorter on the first cold-weather ride of the year — is the pack failing?

Li-ion capacity drops 15–25% below 5°C because cold slows the electrochemical reaction inside each cell, reducing how much energy the pack can actually deliver. This is a physics limitation, not a fault with the battery. Store the pack indoors overnight before a cold-morning ride and fit it to the bike just before you leave — this preserves cell temperature and recovers most of the lost range. If range stays low once temperatures are above 15°C, the pack may have genuine capacity fade and should be load-tested at 36V under a known watt draw.

After a long storage period, the Gravel X battery charges but only reaches about half the usual indicator bars before the charger light goes green — what's causing this?

Extended storage allows cell self-discharge to deepen unevenly across the pack — some cells recover fully, others remain partially depleted, and the BMS balances them during charge. Until balancing completes across all cells, the charger terminates early because the highest cell hits full voltage before the weaker ones catch up. Run two to three full charge-and-ride cycles, allowing the pack to discharge to the point where the assist cuts back before recharging. After three cycles, check whether the indicator reads full — if it still falls short, cell imbalance is persistent and the pack's usable capacity has degraded.
