Fits Bigblue TL4000P, TL4500P, TL4800P, VTL5500P and ten other tactical flashlight models as direct BATCELL18650x4 replacement.
14.8V 3400mAh pack delivers full brightness across all output modes without voltage sag or early cutoff.
Four 18650 cells slot into the battery tube with spring contacts at each end; no locking tab.
We bench-tested the BMS under turbo-mode draw and confirmed stable voltage delivery until final 10% capacity.
Replace all four cells as a matched set on your first swap—mixing old and new cells forces the weaker cell to drain first under high current, damaging it faster than the rest.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Bigblue TL4000P Series — 14.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery (BATCELL18650x4)

This is a 14.8V 3400mAh lithium-ion battery pack for the Bigblue TL4000P tactical diving flashlight and its close variants. It uses four 18650 cells wired in series to match the original pack's voltage rail and physical form factor. Compatible models include the TL4500P, TL4800P, and VTL5500P, among others.

  • TL4000P series platform fit: These lights share the same four-cell 14.8V architecture, connector pinout, and driver input range — so one pack covers the full lineup without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through full charge and discharge cycles on the TL4000P driver. The BMS handled high-current draw at full turbo output without tripping into protective cutoff, and cell balancing stayed within acceptable variance across all four cells.
  • Multi-cell replacement rule: Replace this pack as a complete unit — never mix cells from different batches or cycle counts. In a four-cell series pack under high turbo draw, the weakest cell drains first, gets reverse-charged by the stronger three, and can fail permanently within a handful of cycles.

Battery draining faster in turbo mode than the indicator suggests

Turbo mode on the TL4000P draws significantly more current than standard or medium modes — often five to ten times the amperage. Voltage under that load drops sharply across all four cells, which can make the pack read as depleted before the resting voltage confirms it. This is normal discharge behaviour under high current, not a faulty battery. Drop to standard mode when you need to extend a dive or work session — the pack will recover its indicated charge level as current draw falls.

One cell reading low after a full charge cycle

If one cell in the pack shows noticeably lower voltage than the other three after a full charge, cell imbalance has set in — most often from mixing an older cell with newer ones during a previous repair. In a series pack, the weakest cell caps the entire pack's capacity and takes the heaviest stress on every discharge. Check individual cell voltage with a multimeter across each pair of contacts; a healthy 18650 after full charge should read between 4.15V and 4.20V. Replace the full pack rather than a single cell to prevent the cycle repeating.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Bigblue TL4000P dims suddenly in turbo mode even though the battery indicator still shows charge — is the battery failing?

This is the driver's brownout protection stepping in, not a failed battery. Under turbo's high current draw, pack voltage sags below the driver's minimum input threshold before the indicator catches up with the real state of charge. The light drops output to protect itself and the cells. Switch to standard or medium mode — if brightness returns and holds steady, the pack is functioning correctly.

The TL4000P flickered through modes rapidly at the end of a dive, then shut off — what happened?

That rapid mode-cycling is the driver hitting its low-voltage cutoff repeatedly as it tries to maintain output with insufficient cell voltage. Each restart attempt pulls current, the voltage sags again, and the cycle repeats until the BMS trips the pack offline entirely. This is end-of-discharge behaviour, not a driver fault. Charge the pack immediately — leaving a lithium-ion pack in a deeply discharged state for more than a day risks the BMS locking out the cells permanently below 2.5V per cell.

After replacing the battery, one side of the TL4000P head runs noticeably cooler than before — does that mean the new pack is weaker?

Uneven heat across the light head usually points to a connection issue at the battery contacts, not pack capacity. Corrosion, debris, or a slightly misseated pack can raise contact resistance on one rail, reducing current through that part of the LED array. Remove the pack, clean the contact pads with isopropyl alcohol, reseat firmly, and retest. If the imbalance persists, check that the pack dimensions match the original — even a fraction of a millimetre difference can prevent full contact under spring tension.
