The 3315RZ1 is a compact tactical flashlight used by law enforcement, military, and outdoor professionals. It draws current directly from this single 18650-format cell to drive its high-intensity LED output.

  • 3315RZ1 and 3315RZ1-RA fit: Both models share the same battery bay, voltage rail, and OEM part number — the RA variant is a regional accessory package, not a different electrical platform. One cell fits both.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on the 3315RZ1 driver. The BMS accepted charge from the Pelican cradle charger without error, held voltage through high-output draw, and triggered low-voltage cutoff cleanly before cell damage could occur.

If dimming happens early, check resting voltage after a full charge; a healthy cell should sit at or above 4.1V off the charger.

Battery draining significantly faster in turbo mode than standard mode

Turbo mode on the 3315RZ1 draws five to ten times more current than standard mode from the same 3400mAh cell. That disproportionate draw is normal — higher output always trades charge capacity for intensity. What isn't normal is turbo output collapsing to a lower mode almost immediately after switching. If that happens, the cell voltage is sagging under the high-current load, which points to a degraded or deeply discharged cell. The driver is doing its job. When cell voltage sags below the driver's brownout threshold under turbo's high current draw, it steps output down to protect the cell — the driver itself is fine. A degraded cell loses voltage faster under load than the battery indicator reflects, so the stepdown can look sudden. Charge the replacement fully and confirm resting voltage is at or above 4.1V before switching to turbo.

The 3315RZ1 cradle charger light stays green almost immediately after I put in the new cell — did it actually charge?

A fast green on the cradle usually means the charger detected a cell already near full voltage, or the cell's internal protection circuit interrupted the charge handshake momentarily. Remove the battery, wait 10 seconds, reseat it firmly so the contacts are flush, and start the charge cycle again. Let it run a full cycle — the charger should take at least an hour on a depleted cell before going green.

After storing my 3315RZ1 for a few months, the battery won't power the light at all — is the cell dead?

Li-ion cells self-discharge during storage and can drop below the voltage threshold that the flashlight driver needs to start up — typically around 2.5V. A cell at that level may look dead but often recovers with a slow, low-current charge. Place it on the Pelican cradle charger and leave it for a full cycle. If the charger accepts the charge and voltage climbs back above 3.6V, the cell is recoverable; if the charger shows no activity after 30 minutes, the cell has dropped below safe recovery voltage and needs replacing.
