The Scene Light II's LED driver uses brownout protection — it monitors cell voltage in real time, not just pack-level state of charge. This can happen before the indicator lamp signals low battery because the indicator reads average pack voltage, not per-cell voltage under load. Li-ion cells self-discharge at roughly 2–3% per month.
