Fits Medion GoPal E4240, GoPal E4230, GoPal E4245 GPS navigators; replaces OEM part M1100.
Delivers 3.7V, 1100mAh capacity — sufficient for full-day navigation on the E4240 without mid-route power loss.
Uses standard single-cell connector with friction-fit contact; slides into battery bay vertically with no locking tab required.
We bench-tested this cell in an E4240 unit; BMS accepted charge at 0.5A on first cycle with no cutoff faults or thermal events.
After fitting this cell, power the GPS fully on outdoors and allow it to acquire a satellite fix before active navigation — GPS performs a cold start after power interruption that takes 5–10 minutes for first fix versus under a minute for warm starts.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Medion GoPal E4240 / E4230 / E4245 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (M1100)

This 3.7V, 1100mAh (4.07Wh) lithium-ion cell replaces the M1100 battery in the Medion GoPal E4240, E4230, and E4245 portable GPS navigators. These are compact handheld navigation devices used for vehicle and pedestrian route guidance. Swapping the battery restores a unit that no longer holds charge or fails to power on.

  • GoPal E4230, E4240, E4245 compatibility: All three models share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and 3.7V supply rail. The M1100 part number covers the full range — no adapter or modification needed.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on the GoPal platform. The BMS accepted charge from the device's onboard charging circuit without tripping protection cutoffs, and the unit powered up cleanly across multiple cycles.
  • Cold-start satellite fix after fitting: After fitting this cell, power the GPS on outdoors and let it acquire a satellite fix before driving. The navigator performs a cold start after any full power interruption — first fix typically takes 5–10 minutes. Subsequent warm starts are under a minute once the almanac is cached.

GPS accuracy reduced at low battery on the GoPal E4240

The GoPal E4240's GPS receiver draws power continuously while navigating. At low battery, the device scales back receiver sensitivity to protect the remaining charge. This shows up as position drift or a signal-strength drop on screen — not a hardware fault. Keeping the battery above 30% charge during active navigation maintains full receiver performance.

GoPal shuts off without warning before the low-battery indicator shows

The on-screen battery gauge on the GoPal series is calibrated against the original cell's discharge curve. An aged or newly swapped cell may have a slightly different discharge profile, causing the device to hit its voltage cutoff threshold — typically around 3.0V — before the indicator reads empty. Run two full charge-to-shutoff cycles after fitting the new cell. This lets the firmware re-map the gauge to the new cell's curve and restores accurate low-battery warnings.

Frequently Asked Questions

My GoPal E4240 lost all my saved routes after I swapped the battery — is that normal?

Yes. The GoPal stores saved routes and some POI data in battery-backed RAM. When the battery is fully removed, that memory loses power and the data clears. Export routes to your PC via the GoPal software before swapping the battery next time — the map data itself stays intact on the internal storage.

The GPS took nearly 10 minutes to find a signal after fitting the new battery — is something wrong?

Nothing is wrong. Any full power interruption forces a cold start — the navigator has to re-download satellite almanac data from scratch, which takes 5–10 minutes outdoors with clear sky view. Once it completes that first fix, subsequent startups use the cached almanac and lock within 60 seconds. Leave the unit stationary outdoors for that first acquisition.

The battery drains noticeably faster when I'm actively navigating versus just leaving the unit on standby — why?

Active navigation runs the GPS receiver and the display simultaneously, which together draw significantly more current than standby. Screen brightness is the biggest variable — drop it one or two steps below maximum and the battery lasts noticeably longer on long routes. The GPS receiver load is fixed, but display brightness is the one setting you can adjust to reduce drain.
