Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Bosch Indego M plus 700 / M 700 / S 500 — 18V Li-ion Replacement Battery (1 607 A35)
This is an 18V Li-ion replacement battery rated at 2000mAh (36Wh) for the Bosch Indego M plus 700, Indego M 700, and Indego S 500 robotic lawn mowers. It matches the OEM part number 1 607 A35 and fits the original docking charger and battery bay without modification. Voltage and BMS communication remain compatible with the mower's onboard motor controller.
- Indego M and S series compatibility: The M plus 700, M 700, and S 500 share the same 18V battery rail, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — one pack covers all three. The mower's motor controller reads state-of-charge data directly from the battery BMS over the same interface used by the OEM unit.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through the Indego charge cycle on the OEM docking station and confirmed the BMS handshake completed cleanly. Under simulated blade-motor inrush, the protection circuit held within spec and did not trigger a false cutoff at full charge.
- Seasonal storage tip: Before returning the mower to service after winter, charge this pack indoors at room temperature for a full cycle before docking the mower. If temperatures are below 10°C, leave the battery inside overnight — cold Li-ion cells carry higher internal resistance, and the blade motor's inrush current can trip the BMS on a cold pack at the first mow of the season.
BMS cutoff on thick-grass or wet-grass blade load
The Indego blade motor draws a brief high-current spike when it hits dense or wet grass — this inrush can momentarily exceed the BMS overcurrent threshold, causing the pack to cut out mid-row. It is not a faulty battery. The BMS resets automatically once the load drops, which is why the mower often recovers and continues after a short pause. If this happens repeatedly on a new pack, check that the blade is sharp and free of debris — a dragging blade multiplies the inrush current significantly.
Charger not accepting the pack after winter storage
Li-ion cells that self-discharge below approximately 2.5V per cell over a long storage period will be rejected by the Indego docking charger — the charger's input circuit reads the pack as outside the safe acceptance window. This is common after a mower sits in a cold garage from October to March. To recover the pack, place it on the charger and check the indicator every 20–30 minutes — some chargers will accept the pack and begin a low-current recovery charge once cell voltage climbs above the threshold. If the charger continues to show a fault after two attempts, the cells have dropped below safe recovery voltage and the pack should be replaced.

Frequently Asked Questions
The Indego cuts out halfway through a mowing row, then starts again on its own — what's happening?
This is thermal protection activating, not a fault with the battery itself. When the blade motor works hard — dense grass, wet conditions, or a partial blockage — heat builds in the pack and the BMS interrupts power to protect the cells. Allow a 5-minute cooldown with the mower stationary before resuming. Clear any grass clippings packed around the battery bay, as restricted airflow accelerates heat buildup and makes the cutout happen earlier in the mow cycle.
The pack gets noticeably warmer than the old battery did during the first few charges — is something wrong?
New Li-ion cells run slightly warmer than a broken-in pack during the first five charge and discharge cycles — this is normal cell conditioning, not a defect. Internal resistance drops as the cells settle, and surface temperature comes down to a stable level after those initial cycles. Keep the battery out of direct sunlight and off insulating surfaces like carpet while it conditions. If the pack is still running hot to the touch after five full cycles, check that the mower's battery bay contacts are clean and making solid connection.
The mower's first run of spring was noticeably shorter than usual — battery or something else?
Cold Li-ion cells deliver less usable capacity below 10°C — internal resistance rises and the BMS may also pull the pack offline earlier to protect cells operating outside their thermal comfort range. This is a chemistry issue, not damage. Bring the battery indoors the night before the first spring mow and let it reach room temperature before docking. One full charge at room temperature is enough to restore normal capacity output for that first run.
