Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Cramer 82V 82B900 / KM Domus 82V — 80V Li-ion Replacement Battery
This 80V 2000mAh (160Wh) Li-ion battery replaces the original pack on the Cramer 82V 82B900, 82V 82UC, KM Domus 82V, Nimbus 82V, and five additional 82V-platform models. It slots directly into the same battery bay and communicates with the same BMS handshake the charger expects. Capacity figures come from the product data, not manufacturer marketing sheets.
- 82V platform compatibility: All listed models run the same 80V nominal rail, share the same battery connector, and use the same BMS communication protocol — which is why one pack covers the full range without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through simulated blade-motor inrush cycles on the 82V platform. The BMS held cutoff thresholds within spec and recovered correctly after load spikes consistent with thick-grass engagement.
- Seasonal storage before first mow: If the battery sat in an unheated garage through winter, bring it indoors for at least 12 hours before the first spring charge. Cold Li-ion cells have elevated internal resistance, and the blade motor's inrush current can trip the BMS on a pack that hasn't warmed to room temperature.
BMS cutoff on thick-grass or wet-grass blade load
When the blade hits dense or wet grass, motor inrush current spikes sharply — sometimes two to three times the steady-state draw. The BMS on the 82V platform is set to cut power if that spike exceeds the pack's rated discharge threshold. This protects the cells from a single high-current event that would otherwise cause permanent capacity loss. If the mower shuts off mid-row and the battery LED flashes, set it down for five minutes to let the BMS thermal sensor reset before restarting.
Charger shows fault light after the pack sat unused all winter
Li-ion cells self-discharge slowly over months. If the pack drops below roughly 2.5V per cell during storage, most chargers will refuse to begin a charge cycle — they read the voltage as a fault condition rather than a deeply discharged pack. Some Cramer 82V chargers include a recovery mode: hold the charge button for five seconds to force a low-current pre-charge that brings cell voltage back above the acceptance threshold. If the charger has no recovery mode, check cell voltage with a multimeter — anything above 2.0V per cell is usually recoverable with a compatible recovery charger set to 80V.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Cramer 82V mower cuts out halfway through a row, then starts again after a minute — what's causing that?
This is thermal protection activating, not a faulty battery. The blade motor draws high current through dense or damp grass, and if the pack temperature rises past the BMS cutoff point, it disconnects to protect the cells. Let the battery sit off the mower for five minutes — the BMS resets once the thermal sensor drops below its threshold. If it trips repeatedly on light grass, check that the blade isn't clogged with clippings, which forces the motor to work harder than it should.
The new battery feels noticeably warmer than my old one after a full mow — is something wrong?
New Li-ion cells run warmer than a broken-in pack for the first four to five charge and discharge cycles. Fresh cells have slightly higher internal resistance until the electrolyte fully wets the electrode surfaces, which generates more heat per amp. We measured surface temperatures on the bench during this conditioning period and they stayed well within safe operating range. After five full cycles, warmth after a mow should return to what you'd expect from the original pack.
The battery reads fully charged but the mower loses power noticeably faster than it did last season — what's the real cause?
If the pack was stored below 10°C — in a shed or garage over winter — cold temperatures increase internal resistance and reduce how much current the cells can actually deliver to the blade motor. This looks like capacity loss but is often temporary. Bring the battery indoors and let it reach room temperature before charging and using it. If reduced output persists after three full cycles at room temperature, the cells may have experienced capacity fade from a deep-discharge event during storage, which is not recoverable.
