Fits Wolf Garten Power 37, Power 40, Hybrid Power 37, Hybrid Power 40 mowers; replaces OEM part 4949066, 4937065, 4919096.
36.5V, 5000mAh capacity delivers full blade torque without voltage sag during thick-grass cutting passes.
Slide-and-click connector mates flush to the mower housing with a locking tab that prevents accidental ejection.
We ran the cell through five full discharge cycles on a Power 37 deck; BMS held stable current delivery under sustained load with no thermal throttling.
If the mower cuts out mid-row then restarts after a few seconds, allow five minutes cooling before resuming — thermal protection has engaged, not a battery fault.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Wolf Garten Power 37 / Power 40 Series — 36.5V Li-ion Replacement Battery (4949066)

This 36.5V, 5000mAh Li-ion battery replaces the original pack on Wolf Garten Power 37, Power 40, Hybrid Power 37, and Hybrid Power 40 cordless lawn mowers. It matches the OEM voltage rail and connector used across the 36V Power platform. Capacity is 5000mAh (182.5Wh), sourced direct from the product specification.

  • Power 37 / Power 40 platform fit: All four models — Power 37, Power 40, Hybrid Power 37, Hybrid Power 40 — share the same 36V battery bay, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. One pack covers the full range.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through blade-motor start loads and mid-cut draw spikes. The BMS held stable under repeated high-inrush events, and cell balancing completed correctly at end of charge.
  • Seasonal storage care: Before the first mow of spring, bring the battery indoors overnight if temperatures are below 10°C. Cold Li-ion cells carry higher internal resistance, and the blade motor's inrush current can trip the BMS on a cold pack before the cells have warmed up.

BMS cutoff on thick grass and wet-grass blade load

The Power 37 blade motor draws a sharp inrush current each time it bites into dense or wet grass. If that spike exceeds the BMS threshold — typically triggered by repeated heavy cuts in succession — the pack cuts power to protect the cells. This is not a battery fault; it is the BMS doing its job. Let the mower sit for five minutes to allow the BMS thermal sensor to reset, then resume cutting at a slightly faster walking pace to reduce dwell time per blade rotation.

Charger shows fault light after mower sat unused all winter

Li-ion packs left in storage self-discharge slowly over months. If the cell voltage drops below roughly 2.5V per cell, most chargers refuse to begin a charge cycle — the fault light comes on immediately. Place the pack on the charger and leave it connected for up to 30 minutes; some chargers run a low-current recovery pulse before switching to normal charge mode. If the fault light clears and charging begins, the pack is recovering. If it does not clear after 30 minutes, the cells have dropped too far and the pack needs replacement.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Wolf Garten Power 37 cuts out halfway across the lawn then starts again after a short wait — is the battery faulty?

This is thermal protection activating, not a cell failure. The blade motor generates sustained heat under continuous load, and the BMS trips to prevent cell damage when internal temperature exceeds the cutoff threshold. Allow a five-minute cooldown with the mower stationary and the battery still in the deck — the BMS resets automatically once the thermal sensor reads safe. If cutouts happen on every row rather than after extended continuous cutting, check that the blade is sharp; a blunt blade forces the motor to work harder and draws more current throughout the cut.

The battery feels noticeably warmer than my old pack for the first few mows — should I be concerned?

New cells run slightly warmer during the first few charge and discharge cycles while the internal chemistry stabilises. We saw this on the bench — surface temperature elevated by a few degrees compared to a conditioned pack, then settled after five full cycles. As long as the pack is not hot to the touch or triggering the charger fault light, this is normal conditioning behaviour. After five cycles, compare the warmth level to your first mow; it should be noticeably lower.

The mower starts fine in summer but bogs down and lacks power on cold mornings in early spring — same battery, same grass height.

Cold temperatures increase the internal resistance of Li-ion cells, which reduces the current they can deliver cleanly during motor start. Below 10°C the effect is significant enough to cause sluggish blade acceleration and reduced cutting force, even with a fully charged pack. Bring the battery indoors the night before an early-season mow — a pack at room temperature will deliver full current from the first cut. Once the battery has been running for a few minutes and cell temperature rises, performance returns to normal even in cold ambient conditions.
