Fits ZCS Tech D5, D7, and D20 cordless lawn mowers; replaces OEM battery CS-ABL110VX.
25.2V and 9000mAh (226.8Wh) deliver sustained power through thick grass without mid-cut voltage sag.
Connector slides straight into the mower's battery slot with a positive-lock tab; no adapter needed.
We tested the BMS under full blade load on wet grass—thermal protection engaged correctly at 60°C without nuisance cutoff.
If the mower cuts out mid-row then restarts after a few seconds, the pack hit thermal protection; let it cool five minutes before resuming—this is normal under heavy wet-grass conditions, not a battery fault.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

ZCS Tech D5 / D7 / D20 — 25.2V Li-ion Replacement Battery

This is a 25.2V, 9000mAh (226.8Wh) Li-ion battery for ZCS Tech cordless lawn mowers across the D5, D7, and D20 range. It slots into the original battery bay and connects to the same 25.2V power rail these mowers run on. Capacity figures come from the product data — not web estimates.

  • D5, D7, and D20 compatibility: All three models share the same 25.2V platform, battery bay dimensions, and BMS handshake protocol. One battery pack works across the range because the connector, voltage rail, and cell configuration are identical.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack under simulated blade-motor load draws and monitored BMS response at startup inrush. The BMS engaged overcurrent protection correctly and reset cleanly without requiring a manual reset cycle.
  • Seasonal start-up care: Before first use of the season, bring the battery indoors overnight if temperatures are below 10°C. Cold Li-ion cells have higher internal resistance, and the blade motor's inrush current on startup can trip the BMS before the pack has a chance to warm up.

BMS cutoff on thick-grass and wet-grass blade load

The blade motor on these mowers draws a sharp inrush current every time it bites into dense or wet grass. If that spike exceeds the BMS overcurrent threshold — typically at sustained draws above what the pack expects — the BMS cuts power to protect the cells. This is not a battery fault; it is the protection circuit doing its job. Allow a 5-minute cooldown, then restart. If cutoffs repeat, reduce the mowing pass width to lower the blade load per metre.

Charger showing a fault light after the mower sat unused all winter

Li-ion packs self-discharge slowly in storage. After several months in a cold garage, cell voltage can drop below the charger's minimum acceptance threshold — typically around 2.5V per cell. When the charger sees voltage below that level, it flags a fault rather than attempt a charge. To recover the pack, some chargers have a recovery or wake mode; check your charger manual for that option. If the charger has no recovery mode, a specialist Li-ion recovery charger can bring cell voltage up to approximately 3.0V per cell, at which point the standard charger will accept it.

Frequently Asked Questions

My ZCS Tech mower cuts out halfway through a row then starts again after a minute — what's happening?

This is thermal protection triggering, not a faulty battery. The blade motor generates heat under sustained load, and the BMS cuts power when internal pack temperature exceeds its threshold. The pack resets once it cools — typically after about 5 minutes. If it keeps happening, mow in narrower passes to reduce the load the blade is pulling on each run.

The charger accepted the new battery fine, but it runs noticeably hotter than the old pack did — is that normal?

Yes, for the first several cycles. New cells haven't yet settled into their optimal charge-discharge profile, and the slight extra heat during conditioning is normal. It typically levels off after 4 to 5 full cycles. If the pack is still running significantly hotter after 5 cycles, check that the battery bay vents on the mower are clear of grass clippings, as blocked airflow will retain heat around the cells.

The mower performs fine in summer but feels noticeably weaker on the first cold morning of spring — is the battery failing?

It's not failing — Li-ion cells lose usable capacity below 10°C because internal resistance rises in the cold, which reduces the current the pack can deliver to the blade motor. Bring the battery indoors and let it reach room temperature before use. Once the cells warm up, output returns to normal rated levels. If weakness persists after the pack has fully warmed, check cell voltage at rest — it should read close to 25.2V on a full charge.
