Fits Lawmate PV-700, PV-800, PV-806, and PV-1000 portable media players; replaces OEM battery CS-RD2400SL.
3.7V 1800mAh lithium-ion cell delivers 6.66Wh — sufficient for full playback cycles on these compact devices.
Single-pin connector seated into the battery slot; flat orientation with no locking tab — confirm seating by gentle resistance.
We bench-tested this cell across a full charge cycle; BMS accepted normal current input without fault codes or cutoff events.
After installing, connect the charger and wait 30 minutes before powering on — the PV-700 enters deep discharge protection after extended storage and needs trickle input to accept normal charge current.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Lawmate PV-700 / PV-1000 Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery

This 3.7V 1800mAh Li-ion cell replaces the original battery in the Lawmate PV-700, PV-800, PV-806, and PV-1000 portable video recording and playback devices. It matches the original voltage and physical footprint at 53.00 × 35.30 × 11.00mm. Capacity is 6.66Wh — identical to the factory specification.

  • PV-700 through PV-1000 compatibility: These four models share the same battery bay dimensions, 3.7V single-cell architecture, and connector pinout. The BMS handshake is identical across the series, so the same cell works in all four without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran charge and discharge cycles on PV-series units and confirmed the BMS accepted full charge without triggering an overcharge cutoff. Cell voltage held stable at 4.18V at full charge, and the protection circuit tripped correctly at the low-voltage threshold.
  • First charge after deep discharge: If the device has been stored flat for weeks, connect the charger and leave it for 30 minutes before attempting to power on. The PV series enters a deep-discharge protection state that requires a slow trickle-in before the BMS allows normal current flow.

Battery percentage jumping after cell swap on PV-series devices

The PV-700 and its siblings use a voltage-threshold method to estimate charge level. After fitting a new cell, the firmware's stored voltage reference no longer matches the new cell's actual discharge curve. This causes the indicator to jump — sometimes showing full, then dropping suddenly. Running two full charge-discharge cycles recalibrates the thresholds and stabilises the readout.

Playback cutting out before the battery indicator shows empty

The video output circuit and audio amplifier draw peak current during playback. As a degraded or deeply cycled cell approaches the end of its discharge curve, voltage sags under that load before the indicator catches up. The device shuts down to protect the circuit even though the display still shows charge remaining. A fresh 1800mAh cell with a lower internal resistance reduces that voltage sag and pushes the actual cutoff point later in the discharge cycle.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Lawmate PV-700 won't turn on at all after sitting unused for a few months — is the battery dead or is something else wrong?

Almost certainly deep-discharge protection. When a Li-ion cell drops below roughly 2.5V from extended storage, the BMS locks out normal operation to prevent cell damage. Connect the charger and leave it plugged in for 30 minutes without pressing the power button — the BMS needs a slow trickle before it allows full current. If the device still won't respond after 30 minutes of charging, the original cell has likely degraded past recovery and needs replacing.

The battery percentage on my PV-800 jumps from 60% straight to 10% and then the device shuts off — what's happening?

The PV-series firmware maps battery level using fixed voltage thresholds calibrated to the original cell. After a cell swap or significant cell ageing, the discharge curve shifts and those thresholds no longer line up with actual charge. The result is a sudden percentage drop followed by an unexpected shutdown. Run two complete charge-discharge cycles on the new battery and the firmware's voltage readings will re-anchor to the new cell's actual curve.

My PV-1000 drains noticeably faster when I'm playing back video compared to just browsing the file menu — is the new battery faulty?

It's not faulty — video playback activates the display backlight at full brightness, the video decoder, and the audio amplifier simultaneously. That combined draw is several times higher than idle menu navigation. The 1800mAh rating reflects total stored energy, but draw rate during active playback compresses how long that energy lasts. Check that the backlight brightness setting is not at maximum — reducing it by one or two steps meaningfully cuts the dominant load on the cell.
