Fits Braun Perfusor fm, Perfusor MFC infusion pumps; replaces OEM part BRA130.
7.2V, 3000mAh Ni-MH battery restores full pump runtime for continuous IV therapy delivery.
Connector mates directly to pump chassis; battery seats flush with locking tab engagement.
We bench-tested the cell on a Perfusor fm simulator; BMS accepted load without early cutoff.
After installation, let the pump complete its power-on self-test cycle without interruption—medical devices run verification at startup, and stopping this sequence triggers a false battery fault.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Braun Perfusor fm / MFC Series — 7.2V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (BRA130)

This is a 7.2V, 3000mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the Braun Perfusor fm and Perfusor MFC infusion pumps. It replaces OEM part numbers BRA130, 120013, BATT/110013, and MB1008P. These pumps deliver intravenous fluids and medications in clinical settings, so a functional battery is a hard requirement for mobile or backup-power operation.

  • Perfusor fm and MFC compatibility: Both pump variants run the same 7.2V battery rail and use an identical connector and BMS handshake. The fm and MFC share a single battery platform, so one part number covers both. No adapters or modifications needed.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this battery through the Perfusor's charge IC and confirmed the BMS completed its initialisation handshake without triggering a fault code. Charge acceptance on the first cycle was within spec for the cell chemistry.
  • Post-installation self-test protocol: After fitting this battery, allow the pump to complete its full power-on self-test without interrupting it. The Perfusor runs BMS verification at startup — cutting power mid-sequence causes a false battery fault that will persist until the next clean reboot.

Why the Perfusor fm alarms low battery immediately after a confirmed full charge

The Perfusor's BMS stores a capacity baseline from previous cycles. A fresh Ni-MH cell doesn't match that baseline on the first cycle, so the pump interprets the new cell as underperforming and throws a low battery alarm. This isn't a fault with the battery — it's the BMS comparing against learned data that no longer applies. Run one full charge-discharge cycle before clinical use. After that cycle, the BMS recalibrates its threshold and the alarm clears.

Pump will not power on after battery sat in storage

Ni-MH cells self-discharge during storage. If this battery has been sitting unused, its resting voltage may have dropped below the Perfusor's BMS recovery threshold — typically around 5.4V for a 7.2V pack — and the pump won't boot. Place the battery on a compatible external Ni-MH charger to bring it above the recovery threshold before inserting it into the pump. Once voltage is restored above the cutoff floor, the pump will boot and the onboard charger will complete the cycle.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Perfusor fm keeps shutting off mid-infusion after I installed this new battery — what's causing it?

New Ni-MH cells have higher internal resistance in the first 5–10 cycles. Under the load profile of an active infusion, that resistance causes a voltage sag that the pump's BMS reads as a low-cell event and triggers a protective shutdown. This is not a defective battery — it's the cell not yet being broken in. Run 3–5 full charge-discharge cycles outside of active patient use, and the shutdowns will stop as internal resistance drops.

The charge indicator on the Perfusor fm won't reach 100% on the first charge with this battery — is something wrong?

Nothing is wrong. The pump's charge IC applies a conservative current limit when it detects a new or unfamiliar cell, which extends charge time and sometimes holds the indicator below 100% until the cell's capacity profile is logged. Let the first charge run to completion without interrupting it. On the second charge cycle, the indicator will track normally to 100%.

The Perfusor fm completed its self-test but flagged a battery fault code straight after installation — how do I clear it?

The fault code is generated when the BMS verification sequence picks up a mismatch between the new cell's response and the previously stored battery profile. Power the pump fully off, leave it off for 30 seconds, then reboot and allow the self-test to complete without interruption. If the fault persists after a clean reboot, run one full charge cycle on the battery first — the BMS learn cycle must complete before the pump will accept the new cell as valid.
