Fits Edan MI-807 and Acclarix A8 ultrasound systems; replaces OEM battery TWSLB-013.
Delivers 14.8V and 7800mAh capacity; sustains full imaging cycles without mid-procedure voltage sag.
Connector seats into the vertical slot with a locking tab; orientation is fixed by the keyed housing.
We ran a full charge cycle on the Edan charger; the BMS accepted the cell without fault codes and held voltage stable under load simulation.
After installation, allow the device to complete its power-on self-test cycle without interruption — medical ultrasound machines run BMS verification at startup, and stopping this sequence triggers a false battery fault that persists until full reboot.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Edan MI-807 / Acclarix A8 — 14.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery (TWSLB-013)

This is a 14.8V, 7800mAh (115.44Wh) lithium-ion replacement battery for the Edan MI-807 Ultrasound system and Acclarix A8 portable ultrasound units. Both devices share the TWSLB-013 form factor, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. Capacity figures come from product data — not manufacturer marketing sheets.

  • MI-807 and Acclarix A8 compatibility: Both units run the same 14.8V four-cell series configuration and share identical BMS communication lines. The TWSLB-013 connector carries both power and data — the device reads cell state from the battery's onboard fuel gauge, not a simple voltage sense pin.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on a 14.8V load bank, monitoring BMS handshake acknowledgement and cell balancing behaviour across all four groups. The protection circuit tripped correctly at low-voltage cutoff and recovered cleanly on reconnect.
  • Post-swap startup protocol: After installing this battery, allow the MI-807 to complete its full power-on self-test without interruption. The device runs a BMS verification sequence at boot — cutting power mid-cycle causes a false battery fault flag that persists until the next clean reboot.

Why the MI-807 shows a battery fault after a fresh install

The MI-807 uses a smart BMS that stores a learned capacity baseline. When a new cell arrives, the device's charge IC has no prior cycle data to reference and applies conservative thresholds. This often triggers a fault flag on the first one or two boots — not a defective cell. Run one complete charge-discharge cycle before treating any fault indicator as a hardware failure. The BMS learn cycle clears the flag automatically once it has a full reference cycle recorded.

Charge indicator not reaching 100% on the first charge

On a new cell, the MI-807's charge IC applies a reduced current ceiling during the first charge session — this is normal cell conditioning behaviour, not a charger fault. The indicator may plateau at 95–98% and stay there. Allow the charge cycle to terminate naturally rather than interrupting it. On the second charge, the IC relaxes its ceiling and the indicator will reach 100% at the correct 16.8V termination voltage.

Frequently Asked Questions

The MI-807 is alarming low battery immediately after a confirmed full charge on the new cell — what's happening?

The MI-807's BMS compares incoming cell state against a stored OEM chemistry baseline. A new cell with no cycle history sits outside that reference window, triggering the low-battery alarm even at full charge. This clears after one complete charge-discharge cycle lets the BMS establish a new baseline. Run that conditioning cycle before clinical use and the alarm will not repeat.

The MI-807 won't power on at all after the replacement battery sat in storage before installation — how do I recover it?

Lithium-ion cells self-discharge during storage, and the MI-807's BMS has a hard cutoff — if cell voltage drops below approximately 10V, the protection circuit opens and the device sees zero voltage at the connector. Connect the battery to the MI-807 charger and leave it for at least 90 minutes before attempting to power on. Most BMS circuits allow a slow pre-charge recovery at this stage; if the charge LED activates and holds, the cell is recovering. If the LED does not activate after two hours, the cell has dropped below the recovery floor.

The MI-807 is shutting off unexpectedly mid-examination — the battery shows adequate charge before each session. What causes this?

New lithium-ion cells have higher internal resistance in their first 10 cycles, which causes voltage sag under the MI-807's imaging load. The BMS reads that sag as a critically low-voltage event and cuts power as a protection measure — even though the resting charge level looked fine. The fix is to complete 8–10 full charge-discharge cycles before relying on the battery in clinical sessions. Internal resistance drops significantly across those cycles and the mid-use shutoffs stop.
