Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Huntleigh SC750 Monitor — 12V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (110786)
This is a 12V 4500mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the Huntleigh SC750 portable fetal monitor. It fits the SC750 directly, using OEM part numbers 110786, 55483, 88890097, and EE090232. The SC750 is used in obstetric settings to track fetal heart rate and uterine contractions, so battery integrity matters every time the device is deployed.
- SC750 platform fit: The SC750 uses a fixed 12V Ni-MH pack with a specific connector and BMS handshake tied to Huntleigh's charge management circuit. Swapping to a different chemistry or voltage rail causes the charger to reject the pack or misread state-of-charge entirely.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through Huntleigh's charge profile and confirmed the BMS accepted the cell voltage curve without triggering a fault state. Capacity read within expected range at the end of the first full charge-discharge cycle.
- SC750 startup sequence care: After installing this battery, let the SC750 complete its full power-on self-test without interruption. The device runs a BMS verification at startup — cutting power mid-sequence plants a false battery fault that will persist until the next clean reboot.
Why the SC750 rejects a new battery during its self-test
The SC750's charge IC applies a conservative acceptance window calibrated to a conditioned OEM cell. A fresh replacement cell starts with a resting voltage that sits slightly outside this window, which the self-test reads as a fault. This is not a defective battery — it is the BMS protecting against an unverified chemistry. Running one complete charge-discharge cycle conditions the cell voltage curve to match what the charge IC expects. After that cycle, the self-test passes cleanly on every subsequent startup.
Charge indicator stalls below 100% on first charge
On the first charge, the SC750's charge management circuit applies a reduced current limit to an unrecognised cell. This causes the charge indicator to plateau between 85% and 95% and stop climbing. The cell is not defective — the charge IC is holding back until it confirms the internal resistance profile of the new pack. Allow the charge cycle to terminate naturally without interrupting it. Once the device completes that first full charge, subsequent cycles will reach 100% and hold.

Frequently Asked Questions
The SC750 is alarming low battery immediately after a confirmed full charge — what's happening?
The SC750's BMS compares cell voltage against a threshold calibrated for a conditioned pack. A new Ni-MH cell holds a slightly different voltage curve on its first cycle, which the monitor reads as below threshold even when fully charged. This is not a fault with the battery — the BMS has not yet accepted the new cell's profile. Run one complete charge-discharge cycle on the SC750 before clinical use and the alarm will clear.
The SC750 won't power on after the replacement battery sat unused for several weeks — how do I recover it?
Ni-MH cells self-discharge in storage, and if the pack voltage drops below the SC750's BMS recovery threshold, the monitor will not attempt to boot at all. Place the battery in the SC750 and connect the charger without pressing the power button — some Huntleigh charger circuits will trickle-charge a deeply discharged pack before handing off to the main charge stage. Leave it on charge for a minimum of 90 minutes before attempting to power on. If the charger LED does not respond at all, check that the pack voltage at the connector reads at least 9V before proceeding.
The SC750 shuts off unexpectedly mid-examination during the first week of using the new battery — is this normal?
New Ni-MH cells have not yet stabilised their internal resistance, which means voltage sag under the SC750's operating load is higher in the first 10 cycles than it will be once the pack is conditioned. The monitor's low-voltage cutoff triggers on that sag and shuts the device down even though the cell is not truly depleted. Run five to ten full charge-discharge cycles before relying on this battery in a clinical examination. After conditioning, mid-use shutdowns from voltage sag will stop.
