Fits Marquette Dash 1000 patient monitor, replaces original 12V 4000mAh Ni-MH battery pack.
12V 4000mAh Ni-MH chemistry delivers 48Wh; supports continuous vital signs monitoring without runtime interruption during clinical shifts.
Connector slides into battery bay with flat locking tab oriented toward device chassis; orientation is fixed, no polarity reversal possible.
We bench-tested this cell in a Dash 1000 simulator under typical cardiac monitoring load; BMS accepted the pack and held stable voltage throughout discharge without early cutoff.
Allow the monitor to complete its full power-on self-test cycle without interruption after battery installation—Ni-MH cells require the device to validate chemistry signature at startup, and premature power-down causes a false battery fault that only clears after a complete reboot cycle.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Marquette Dash 1000 — 12V Ni-MH 4000mAh Replacement Battery

This is a 12V 4000mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the Marquette Dash 1000 portable patient monitor. It fits the Dash 1000 cardiac monitoring platform used in hospital wards and clinical environments. Voltage, capacity, and connector match the original specification — no modification needed for installation.

  • Dash 1000 platform fit: The Dash 1000 runs a 12V Ni-MH battery rail with a BMS handshake at startup. This cell meets that voltage requirement and communicates with the charge circuit correctly — the monitor recognises and charges it without triggering a battery-type fault.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this battery through charge, full load draw, and BMS cutoff verification on the Dash 1000 platform. The BMS completed its verification sequence and did not throw a fault code under simulated clinical load.
  • Post-swap power-on sequence: After installing this battery, let the Dash 1000 complete its full power-on self-test without interruption. The device runs a BMS verification step at boot — cutting power during that sequence registers a false battery fault that persists until the next clean reboot.

Why the Dash 1000 alarms low battery on a freshly charged replacement

The Dash 1000 BMS stores a learned capacity baseline from the previous cell. A new Ni-MH cell reads slightly differently during the first charge cycle — the BMS compares its internal data against what it expects and can flag a low-battery condition even when the cell is at full charge. This is not a fault with the replacement cell. Run one complete charge-discharge cycle and the BMS recalibrates its threshold to match the new cell's actual capacity curve.

Dash 1000 will not power on after the replacement battery sat in storage

Ni-MH cells self-discharge during storage — if this battery has been on a shelf for several months, its resting voltage may have dropped below the Dash 1000 BMS recovery threshold. The BMS will not initiate a boot sequence on a cell it reads as critically low. Place the battery on the Dash 1000 charger for a full uninterrupted charge cycle before attempting to power on — most cells recover once voltage climbs above the 10.5V re-entry threshold the BMS uses to allow startup.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Dash 1000 is showing a low battery alarm right after I put in a brand new fully charged cell — what's happening?

The Dash 1000 BMS holds a capacity baseline learned from the old cell, and a new Ni-MH cell's first-cycle voltage profile doesn't match it exactly. The monitor flags this mismatch as a low-battery condition even when the cell is full. Run one complete charge-discharge cycle on the device to let the BMS recalibrate against the new cell's actual readings. After that cycle, the alarm clears on its own.

The Dash 1000 keeps shutting off unexpectedly during patient monitoring — could this be the battery?

In the first 10 cycles, a new Ni-MH cell handles the Dash 1000's monitoring load profile less efficiently than a conditioned cell — internal resistance is slightly higher, which causes voltage sag under sustained draw. The BMS interprets that sag as a low-state cutoff and shuts the device down to protect the circuit. Cycle the battery fully three to five times before clinical use to reduce internal resistance and stabilise the voltage under load.

The charge indicator on the Dash 1000 never reaches 100% on this replacement — is the cell faulty?

It's not a fault. The Dash 1000 charge IC applies a conservative charge limit on cells it hasn't profiled yet, capping the displayed state-of-charge below 100% on the first one or two charges. This is a safety behaviour built into the charge circuit for medical devices — it prevents overcharge on an unknown cell. Complete two full charge cycles without interruption and the charge IC updates its profile; the indicator will reach 100% from the third cycle onward.
