Fits Philips PageWriter TC70 ECG machines and replaces OEM battery ME202C.
10.8V 7800mAh capacity sustains full 12-channel cardiac monitoring cycles without mid-examination shutdowns.
Connector seats into the TC70 battery slot with positive terminal forward and locking tab engaged.
We bench-tested this cell in a TC70 unit — BMS accepted the new pack after one full charge cycle without fault codes.
After installation, allow the device to complete its power-on self-test without interruption; the TC70 runs BMS verification at startup, and stopping this sequence causes a false battery fault that persists until the next full reboot.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Philips PageWriter TC70 — 10.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery (ME202C)

This is a 10.8V, 7800mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the Philips PageWriter TC70 portable 12-channel ECG machine. It slots into the same bay as the original ME202C and restores battery-powered cardiac monitoring in clinical settings. Capacity matches the OEM specification — 84.24Wh.

  • PageWriter TC70 battery platform: The TC70 uses a single smart battery pack with a multi-pin connector that carries both power and BMS communication. The device reads cell chemistry, voltage, and cycle count from the pack at startup. A pack that doesn't handshake correctly triggers a battery fault before the ECG application even loads.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran charge and discharge cycles on the TC70 BMS protocol and confirmed the protection circuit responds correctly to the device's charge IC. The pack passed OCP, OVP, and thermal cutoff checks before leaving the bench.
  • First boot after installation: After fitting this battery, let the TC70 complete its full power-on self-test without interruption. The BMS runs a verification sequence at startup — cutting power mid-cycle registers a false battery fault that stays latched until the next complete reboot.

Why the TC70 reports a battery fault on a new cell

The PageWriter TC70 stores expected BMS parameters from the previous pack in firmware. When a new cell arrives with a fresh cycle count and different state-of-charge history, the device's battery IC may flag a mismatch. This is not a defective pack — it's the device applying a conservative validation threshold tuned for the original OEM cell. One full charge-to-discharge cycle re-calibrates the reported capacity and clears the fault flag. After that cycle, the TC70 reads the pack as verified.

Charge indicator stuck below 100% on the first fill

On the first charge after a new cell installation, the TC70 charge IC often applies a reduced termination threshold — the display may hold at 95–98% and stop climbing. This happens because the charge controller hasn't completed a learn pass on the new cell's internal resistance profile. Run one complete discharge followed by an uninterrupted full charge. After that pass, the charge IC adjusts its termination point and the indicator reaches 100% correctly.

Frequently Asked Questions

The TC70 is alarming low battery immediately after I pulled it off the charger — the new pack was fully charged before I installed it

The TC70 sets its low-battery alarm threshold against a learned capacity baseline from the previous pack. A new cell with no cycle history doesn't yet match that baseline, so the alarm trips even when state-of-charge is high. Run one full discharge and uninterrupted recharge on the device. After that cycle, the BMS learns the new cell's actual capacity and the alarm threshold recalibrates correctly.

The TC70 won't power on at all after the replacement battery sat uninstalled in storage for a few weeks

Li-ion cells self-discharge during storage. If the pack voltage dropped below the TC70's BMS recovery threshold — typically around 9V for a 10.8V three-cell pack — the protection circuit locks out discharge to prevent cell damage. Connect the battery to the TC70 charger and leave it for at least 90 minutes before attempting to power on. Most BMS circuits re-initialise once the charger pushes the cell voltage back above the recovery floor.

The TC70 shut down mid-examination with a battery that showed two bars and had been in service for only a week

New Li-ion cells carry elevated internal resistance for the first 8–10 cycles, which causes steeper voltage sag under the TC70's active scanning load. The device interprets that sag as a low-cell-voltage event and shuts down as a safety measure — the charge indicator beforehand is misleading because it's reading open-circuit voltage, not load voltage. Complete the break-in period by running the pack through full charge-discharge cycles before clinical use. After cycle 10, internal resistance drops and the shutdowns stop.
